SNL from start to finish last night was top notch.
Been awhile since I laughed that during the Weekend Update.
Che, I'm from Mexico... PUERTO RICO!
Bhahaha
"If you're 70 and have no experience, you couldn't get hired at Target." Also, I about died on the "Trump made white men feel special... He made them feel pretty again. He's like their Beyonce."
If Bishop says it may be his favorite movie of all time, you make time to finally watch the movie. It's good stuff.
Just to clarify, I said it could probably end up being one of my favorite movies of all time. To be my all time favorite, it would have to usurp films like "Boogie Nights", "Clockwork Orange", the first two "Godfather" movies, "Rosemary's Baby", "Children of Men", "Taxi Driver", "Lawrence of Arabia", "La Dolce Vita", "Jaws", "Blue Velvet", "Alien", "Five Easy Pieces", and "Chinatown" among quite a few others. As is, it's up there for sure in terms of top 50, maybe even top 25.
Either way, glad you finally got around to it, and I'm surprised to learn you hadn't seen it until recently... I would have figured you would have been all over this. It's friggin' great, ain't it?
I figured I'd split this post into two, but I just finished:
Man, I loved this... quickest binge watch for me since Daredevil season 1. Obviously, the parallels to the "Fargo" movie are apparent, but I also saw similarities to Breaking Bad and Twin Peaks even. Loved it. The acting, cinematography, script, metaphorical symbolism, and elements of black comedy were all a total treat. I just finished this up yesterday afternoon and I can already tell you I'm going to go pick up season 2 on video tomorrow and get to it... I'm reading that season 2 is even better. Whether that's true or not, I am totally behind this type of show. As far as recent shows I've watched in the last few years, it's just under True Detectives Season 1 and a little better than Better Call Saul so far, which is pretty fucking great to me. I can't believe some of this made it past basic cable's standards and practices... some dark, twisted shit. And regularly funny.

This is probably my favorite current show. We're watching Twin Peaks right now (I may have watched it a long time ago, but I don't really remember it). I do see similarities between the 2 shows. Breaking Bad is also one of my favorite shows ever. What other shows do I need to see that are along these lines?

I can't really think of too many off the top of my head. Honestly, I just within the last few years started watching shows that I've been meaning to for a while, and I don't watch anything live on TV aside from Better Call Saul, which since you liked Breaking Bad I'm sure you're watching that. Really, only thing I can think of that be a good fit if you liked those shows is the first season of True Detectives, even though it's a lot darker than anything else I've mentioned. If you haven't seen the movie "Fargo", I'd say watch that immediately, as well as some other Coen Brothers crime dramas, like "Blood Simple", "Miller's Crossing", "No Country For Old Men", and maybe even "Barton Fink".

I loved True Detectives as well and we're watching Better Call Saul.

I did not see any posts about this in the last three pages.
On Netflix right now is a series called "Hip-Hop Evolution." It contains 4 episodes under an hour each. I watched it over the last two days and it is great. They talked about a lot of stuff I already knew and even more that I hadn't known. Even for someone who may not be too into the hip-hop scene, it is awesome. What is even nicer is that the episodes are split up by timeline. The first talks about the 70s and how hip-hop got its name. The second talks about the first recorded hip-hop songs. The third talks about hip-hop through the 80s and the fourth talks about gangsta rap being born.
They have a ton of interview from older guys too. I also enjoy that they do not talk about Biggie, Tupac or WuTang so it means there will definitely be a second season.
