Watched this the other day. I don't think it was as bad as some people made it out to be, but it certainly wasn't good. Overall, I felt it was one of those movies that was super frustrating because you felt a great movie was lurking in there somewhere but couldn't make its way out.
Random thoughts 1) As much as Marvel is getting to the point of having too many movies, I think this movie went as a testament to why they did that route. Basically every character was getting introduced for the first time. To keep it from getting overlong, all the intros and most of the development was really lacking, so I didn't give a shit about most of them. Also, some of the dialogue was cheesy as fuck. A little editing would have gone a long way. 2) Leto's Joker wasn't bad. 3) Will Smith's Deadshot was. 4) Jai Courtney was way better than expected.
So proud. A bit of a late bloomer for someone as into serial dramas as you are, but no matter - I'm actually kinda jealous you get to see it all for the first time.
It was fun watching the first few with you and seeing your reactions and getting to explain some things to you. Let me know when you get to an episode called Pine Barrens near the end of season three, because I definitely want to watch that one with you.
I'm on episode 9 already. Took a little break tho and am now watching:
Not a humongous Dead fan, but I thought about watching this the other night... this good?
It is good! I think you're right in the sweet spot of the the audience they're going for. I can't imagine what a huge dead head would get out of it besides a look at some unseen video. It's perfect for someone who might have a passing interest in The Dead or someone like me who likes them but doesn't know every single story there is to know. It's very well made and entertaining so give it a shot.
