The guy that's been cutting my hair for the last 4 years stopped cutting hair and now the place has raised prices. How much is too much? Where do you draw the line?
I've always paid a little extra to just go downstairs from my office, but it's starting to seem extreme.
I am. I'm just fortunate enough to be friends with a person that cuts hair. She charges me mix CD's. If I had to pay for something, I'd just wear a hat.

I hate haircut prices. I usually end up paying $20 (cut + tip) but I don't do anything fancy. Either shave it all off for a buzz cut or I just get a trim and keep it growing long.

Last time I got mine cut, $23+tax/tip for a haircut and shampoo with steam towel. I had a half off depot coupon so it was really only $11.50 though. I would expect yours to be more since you live in a larger city.
Side note: I really should get mine cut more often.

Searched high and low before I found my barber, he always does a good job... I pay $20 including $5 tip, if he raised the price on me I wouldn't complain

I pay 25 with tip, but I'm not crazy about the haircuts I'm getting. If I could find someone who could cut it the way I liked it consistently I'd gladly pay $10 more.

Depends on your hair. Me and the dude used to go to the same hairdresser and she charged us each $60. But, he had a long mod haircut at the time and she spent a good hour on each of us. Honestly I think my haircut took less time/effort than his.
If you're just getting barbered, you shouldn't pay more than $20 I would say.
I've been going to the same shop for 20 years. I pay $17 and tip $5. I started going there because it was in the city and it was convenient bc it was close to work. She really does a great job and doesn't mind when I show up a month later than I should have. I still go to her even though she is in the city and I rarely need to go to the city for work anymore. I went once to "Tony's Highway Barber Shop" and will never do that again.

One time when I was a young kid my mom took me to this ghetto, dirty place that she had some awesome coupon for. I was getting a buzz cut and the lady nicked my ear twice....to the point that a little blood came out. I have hated coupons ever since that day.

I grew up going to a barber that watched and talked golf all day every day. They didnt do women's cuts and really they only did crew cuts or slightly longer than normal crew cuts.
I think I've confirmed my need to find a new place. The one I normally go to is raising the price to $40 before tip. When it was my man, Ron, I was down but I dont know these ladies and they dont have man talk with me.

Chico - you shouls try one of those.... Sports Clips? I've heard about them on the radio... Total man place. apparently there are TVs with sports on at every chair, and like, beer and stuff? I dont know, the way the commercial made it sound, it was like a Hooters, that just happened to have barbers around.

Those chain places like Sports Clips and Pro Cuts have messed me up in the past. I usually only cut mine now about once every two months. My mother is actually a beautician so i try and go to her for free when I can. Maybe I am just used to her ways

First off, the ladies on their website have their shirts zipped too far up. Though shirts with zippers do infer that cleavage could abound.
Secondly, I still think only a grizzled old man can make me look like a young-ish man on his way to grizzling.
