So instead of clogging up a thread, I'm just gonna make one for all things ATP. I'm going to do my best to make 3 next year. US (if there is one) and the two in December in the UK.
This is also to serve CKS a primer to understand this festival better. It gets confusing quick.

What I have learned about ATP is that your reactions tends to be heavily influenced by who is curating. I would love to go to some, but I also look at others saying "who the hell are these guys?"
That's part of it, dave. They will do more than one curator at a time, too. Last years NBC event had three, Les Savy Fav/Battles/Caribou. That's been one of my favorite line ups in recent memory. Usually if there is a name on it you don't know, chances are you should.
They stumped me this year with Beasts Of Bourbon. I had no clue who that was till a few weeks ago.

geezus i hope neurosis comes stateside this year for more than just a festival like they did in 2010. i love them but i couldn't justify paying a full day's worth for maryland death fest to see them.
I'd say right now that I feel like the curator for the US installment will be TVOTR. It makes sense to me IF they bring it back and IF they do it in NYC again.
This October All Tomorrow's Parties will be launching a new weekly gig series at the Sebright Arms, London. This will be an opportunity for you to check out new bands, many of whom will be making their first London appearances, at a low ticket price and we'll also be bringing in a mixture of guest DJs, and each night could feature anything from visuals to film to cabaret each time to make it a great regular fixture on the London live music calendar.
How fucking cool is that. They are making it hard for me not to justify just moving to London.
ATP announced the first round of artist for the tv on the radio and deerhunter editions. The deerhunter one looks great tvor one make me feel like I need to do research.

I'm actually looking into the feasibility of it. If it were done I'd have to do Primavera and relax a few weeks before going. We will see. No way can I do two trips in one year. That Deerhunter one is gonna be insane.

Deerhunter: DEERHUNTER performing Cryptograms, Microcastle & Halcyon Digest ATLAS SOUND PANDA BEAR AVEY TAREY PERE UBU DAN DEACON TIM GANE LAETITIA SADIER NO AGE BLACK LIPS (officially pardoned by ATP)
Even doing the two that are week apart in early december, it hard to justify dropping 2k+ on a plane ticket for it (even if you had a free place to stay over there).
One year after the student loans are paid off and I can actually start saving money, I want to go over there for Download Fest and not leave until Glastonbury is over with. Maybe an ATP will fall in between them. 2020 - the midlife crisis overseas fest tour
Agree to disagree on that one. I'll do both in the winter with a week in London and week in Paris. The UK ATP's slay. Even curators like The National can pull out stellar lineup's.
Wow, the Deerhunter curated one is amazing. Deerhunter, Panda Bear, Avey Tare, Dan Deacon, No Age, and Laetitia Sadier is just ridiculous. I'd love to make it to one of these eventually, but that just isn't going to be possible for a few years.

See I would love to be at the TVotR ATP. That initial lineup has me all setup.
