Can we all agree to create one big mosh pit during this show?
I'd like to direct all members participating in this thread to the conversation I've started revolving around Death Grips & trying to create a designated spot with devoted fans for their show at Bonnaroo this year ! inforoo.com/thread/30649/death-grips?scrollTo=1266975&page=1

Why would you direct people away from the thread that was already dedicated to Death Grips and people wanting to enjoy their show? Just move your conversation about Death Grips to this thread, since you just created a duplicate one.
And I wouldn't worry about too many non enthusiasts at this show. Death Grips are extremely abrasive (in the best way possible), I have no doubt people will run away when they start their assault if they're not into it. I'm just hoping Death Grips doesn't conflict with Purity Ring on Thursday. Two disparate groups no doubt, but both in my top 5 anticipated shows of the weekend at this point in time. And I know Purity Ring isn't confirmed for Thursday yet, but that seems the most likely time for them in my mind so far.

OOOKKKAAAAYYYY. I seemed to have ruffled a few feathers by starting a conversation about Death Grips on another thread... my bad. I'm serious about wanting to infiltrate the crowd with fans of DG. So I'll jut post my inquires here in hopes that I can keep the ball rolling:
Hello,
This is an important message. I've shelled out $310 to attend Bonnaroo, in order to see one band and one band only. DEATH GRIPS ! After seeing them twice live last year; I'm convinced that they are one of the best live acts I've seen. However, both of the shows I attended were located in small venues, where the soul-purpose of the attendees was to see Death Grips.
So I'm here to state my case. I'm trying to create some sort of atmosphere were other devoted Death Grips fans can meet up, preferably close to the stage, and experience the show with other like minded fans. Fans who are familiar with their material, and understand what a Death Grips show is like. So, let's brainstorm on how we can meet up, designate a spot & then proceed to GO CRAZY when Death Grips takes the stage.

No feathers were ruffled, at least mine weren't. It's just to help keep the forum from getting too cluttered up with duplicate threads.
And as I said in my previous post, I really don't think you have to worry about non-fans being at Death Grips' set. Death Grips is not a band that's only casually liked. Their music is very abrasive and polarizing. People will either love it or hate it. 5 minutes into their set, I can promise that anyone not really into it will be long gone with their hands covering their ears. Just be font and center, you'll be surrounded by like minded people.

I could be off base here off of the few songs I listened to but...
Death Grips = Screaming unintelligible nonsense, Blast Beats, and a DJ. I think I'd rather just listen to metal. It's nice that they have a live drummer, but I feel like their act would be incredibly sloppy.

MUTHER OF FUKC!! I've just started listening to Death Grips and I can't get enough! I'm not a big hip-hop fan although I respect the music and don't mind listening to it, but GODT DAMN Death Grips fucking floats my boat!!
Damnitsomuch it's a huge huge suck they're conflicting with Two Gallants, another band I just discovered that I love, on the mother of all conflict riddled days in my Bonnaroo history. Seriously Saturday is fucked up. Even more fucked up is that Two Gallants is playing in my home town June 13...rubbing my nose in it. But I've decided I'm on the rail for Death Grips. Reading what y'all have said about the live show has solved that conflict.
From the tour dates posted earlier in this thread I speculate Death Grips may diss Atlanta because how much commercial hip-hop has come out of here, where as Two Gallants would probably come around again...
(1) Damon Albarn (2) Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (3) King Khan & His Shrines (4) Ty Segall (5) Ms Lauryn Hill (6) Darkside (7) Kanye (8) Janelle Monae (9) Goat (10) Meshuggah.
If i want to listen to someone yell at me unintelligably over loud thumping bass oh wait i nevdr want to listen to someone yell at me unintelligably over thumping bass.
Y'all sure are sensitive when it comes to dissenting opinion.

I havnt seen them live before but I did watch the SXSW show online. So much energy at this show. MC Ride didnt have the greatest performance as a vocalist (i know he mostly just screams you dont have to tell me that) but the energy was off the charts. To me that makes up for it. But then again these guys are playing an early set saturday. They really should have gotten a night set especially thursday like everyone else wanted here.
I am conflicted between this and Portugal the Man. Probably wont make up my mind till im on the farm on who to see since they are playing same exact time.

Me too. That was great except I got to close to the front for SBTRKT and was shoulder to shoulder with no room to move. After about 4 songs I made my way to the outskirts of the tent and everyone looked like they wanted to punch me for squeezing through.

I really hope by "sitting out their current tour" they only mean the European tour. If Zach is not there I would need to really consider whether I still want to go.

Death Grips officially announced that the group was breaking up yesterday, and cancelled all tour dates with NIN and Sound Garden. This saddens me, I was really hoping to catch one of the shows on this tour. Who here got to see them in 2013? It was the top show of 2013 for me. I feel lucky to have been able to see these guys live. I believe it was one of the last live shows they played, if not THE last live show. I know they had more booked but most were no shows. I'm going to miss these guys and their awesome unique high energy music.

According to setlist.fm they only ended up playing a handful of shows after Bonnaroo and it looks like their final show was at FYF 2013 where they had all 3 of them playing together.

I was there! Odd combo but I loved seeing Four Tet after them at the Other Tent
