Yup. As far as I know there is no advantage to doing the payment plan on early bird tickets, but please someone correct me if i'm wrong. I'm really hoping to snag a first tier ticket this year since I'll actually have the money to do it.

You're right. In the end you'll end up paying close to $300 with the payment plan after fees and shipping. If you can scrounge that money you'll be saving yourself close to 60 bucks on the ticket.
Why are you so certain they're going to take a step back with headliners?
I'm just making jokes. Though I personally thought Bonnaroo's headliners were boring last year, so that's just me.
Also, please make sure to watch Bonnaroo and Ashley Capps' twitter accounts in the days leading up to the pre-sale. Last year they were retweeing people's pleas for Prince. Everyone was like "ZOMG PRINCE IS GONNA PLAY," not pausing to ask why they'd choose that particular day to retweet such exciting gossip. I look forward to this year when the Capp Dogg starts retweeting everyone's demands for Daft Punk.

I'm putting our tickets on the credit card. I thought about VIP, but I just can't weigh the extra 450 per ticket
Nice but not worth it imo, unless you're really picky about where you poop.
I'm glad to hear that someone else didn't find the extra cost of VIP worth it! The VIP bathrooms were nice, but I've gotten so used to portapotties that it really doesn't bother me anymore.
