Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Per their booking agent, alt-J will be playing Thursday. I'm on my phone currently, but I can post a screen grab of the email sometime this weekend if you want me to.
While this is great news for the festival, thus far they are one of those artists that just don't connect with me. I have the same problem getting excited by Radiohead. I know that I'm supposed to and I do like some of their songs, I just don't have a near-religious reaction to them like so many others seem to. For those of you who are familiar with alt-j, am I alone here?
Last year I don't think they used any info from the Artist direct page, save possibly the public tweets (so Jeff the Bro will probably go up). IIRC the COS guy called this whole operation "unprofessional" or something.
If I remember correctly, what they objected to was the ruse of contacting bands pretending to be booking an event or a club or something during Bonnaroo. I don't remember the exact scheme but I'm pretty sure that what they objected to was people misrepresenting themselves.

Alt-J remind me of (modern) Radiohead more than any other new band out there. If you don't like RH it's not surprising Alt-J isn't for you.
I've made it my mission to get Great Big Sea booked at Bonnaroo since they started sending out the post-festival survey. Yet again their booker has confirmed that they will not be at the festival this year and not for lack of trying. Boooo. I was hoping that booking recent Celtic-related acts like Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys indicated a thawing of the ground, too.
Am I too late for the Alt-J love fest? You guys fail to steer me wrong yet again. I blindly downloaded their album from iTunes after reading the last 2 pages just now. I just finished listening to the intro. Love at first sound!

My sleuthing started it, so by my authority you are certainly not too late. Glad you discovered a great new band!

Eh, I'm obsessed with Radiohead and I didn't find that Alt-J album to be anything special. I thought it was good, but I don't see what everyone is losing their mind about.
I don't understand the Radiohead comparison at all. Alt-J, like Radiohead, have an affinity for minor chords, but that's about where their similarities to Radiohead begin and end.
In the past 30 days I've found some pretty great music, with Grizzly Bears new album ( that one I was late on I feel), Tame Impala, Japandroids, Cloud Nothing's, and now Alt J, I feel I have a good headstart on bonnaroo 2013

Well done! Thank you, here's some swag, now go get us Daft Punk
I was lucky enough to see Alt-J open for Grouplove in October. Blown away, will happily see them again on Thursday. Unless Tame Impala is holdin down a tent that night
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.

Great Big Sea woulda been a good pick up.
I was very dissapointed to hear this. I emailed them last year and was planning on doing so again later this week.

Rightly or wrongly I consider GBS to be the elder statesmen of the pop-folk scene. Woulda been nice to have them at Roo so these kids these days could learn a thing or two.

I tried Dr. Dog a couple days ago, too. Fingers crossed! I emailed Delta Spirit, Tennis, and Fleet Foxes (though I don't think I'll get a response from FF).
