I don't even understand how it's possible to not have seen the original trilogy. It's like Karosko was part of a cruel Plato's Cave research experiment that withheld George Lucas - related material from the test subjects.

Oh, lord. I've seen bits and pieces of all these movies when I was real little (I think I may've even watched all of episode 4), but it's just that I was so young that I don't really remember it, so I don't really count that. I know all the famous scenes/cultural reference points, though ("Luke I am your father," "May the force be with you," Yoda speak, Boba Fett being a super badass, Princess Leia being super hot, etc etc etc).
The fact that he is trying to equivocate watching "bits and pieces" and knowing all the cultural references (especially when he doesn't reference "I know.")as sufficient for covering Star Wars proves he needs to watch them.

I agree that he should probably rewatch them, though.

What the sh*t is this?
Rosko, pick your favorite set of movies ever. I don't care what it is. Now, imagine for a moment that when you bring up said top-5-most-famous-movie-franchise-in-the-history-of-existence that someone else says they got the gist of the series by watching "bits and pieces."
Would YOU (Mr. Film Enthusiast) accept that as "seeing" the movies and understanding their full meaning?
No, of course not. Don't bullsh*t a bullsh*tter, kiddo. Get it done.

I will avoid commenting on your insult problem dog to say that, in order to rewatch them, he would have to watch them in the first place. I refuse to give him credit by the evidence he has put forth so far.

Haha, I wasn't saying that it's the same as seeing the movies, just pointing out that I haven't COMPLETELY missed out on the Star Wars phenomena.
All my movie-watching free time has been/will be taken up by the film class I'm in for the next few months.

I took a film class in college. I watched movies outside of it. I also enjoy how you are using a film class you have been in for a month to legitimize skipping Star Wars for the past 10 years.

Fair enough, but I will add that the overwhelming majority of people who misquote the "I am your father" line have actually seen Empire Strikes Back.
What I want to know is: who does karosko think shot first?

Rosko, playing just-the-tip with Star Wars is like playing just-the-tip with a girl. If you just-the-tipped a girl and told your friends you had sex, she would call you on it and you'd be done. If you just-the-tip the Star Wars trilogy your friends will know in a few minutes, call you on it and you'll be done.
I can't believe you've neglected not one, but two of the greatest movie franchises (still pretending Crystal Skulls never happened) and argue with the people who demand you see them.

Reading comprehension, potna. I was using the film class as an explanation for why I won't be watching any Star Wars movies in the coming months, not as a way to legitimize skipping it for the past 10 years. I've told you guys, I don't usually like sci-fi movies and I don't usually like action movies, I'm sorry. And I'm not saying that I refuse to watch movies outside of the class BECAUSE of the class, I'm saying I only have limited time to watch movies, and right now it's being taken up by the films I have to watch for that class.
I did watch Blade Runner for the film class I'm in, and I enjoyed that a good deal. So there's that at least.

Shot? I thought it was a lightsaber duel, wasn't it? I remember that scene and then I remember the last scene in episode 6 where Darth Sidious shoots lightning at Luke and then Darth Vader, and I remember Han Solo shooting at stormtroopers in episode 4, but I don't remember Luke shooting Darth Vader or vice versa.

Fair enough. Let me clarify then. You are focusing on the film class limiting your ability to watch them in the present while failing to explain why you have not seen them beforehand. Before you try to start some other bs semantics arguments with me, Star Wars is a sci-fi movie only because there is space ships and sh*t. It doesn't rely on them to forward the point and easily could have been set in a hundred different places and times and kept a similar story. Also, it's f*cking Star Wars, man.
