Touring in February, Conor has no plans after that I know of. They've released some new stuff and I could see them doing a new album. I'm seeing them at Union Transfer but I'd love for them to make a stop at roo, I think it'd be a Friday/Saturday early evening tent show, and a great one at that. In my opinion, this band kicks way more ass than most things Conor has ever done in his life.

Their tour dates make it seem like it's just a short run. I haven't ever seen them but would be open to them at Roo. Big Conor fan. I've been hoping he shows up at Roo and they also have Jim James and M. Ward....leading to Monsters of Folk set.
I wasn't in love with the MoF album so I'd much rather this, but if MoF means Jim James solo I'm down for whatever. It definitely seems like a short run now, but the fact that Conor doesn't have anything planned after the tour makes me optimistic
MOF Live > MOF Album. One of the best shows I've seen.
But I could see this happening. Who knows what Conor will be doing in 6 months.
Absolutely, although I think that show is one of the few shows I've seen that I'm not sure it would be any better in a festival setting. It was just so perfect in the old theater I saw them in

I think I'd agree with you. I mean, maybe they could make a festival set special like that but the show I saw them in was great. A nice "sit-down" concert in a theater that really benefitted from the awesome acoustics as well as laid back/calm vibe between songs.
I don't think it will happen but it's one of my "Bonnaroo Dreams" that we'd get all 3 members AND a MOF set.
Believe it or not I would be way more excited about Deer Tick > Dawes > Delta Spirit > Middle Brother than Centro-matic > M Ward > Connor Oberst > Jim James > MOF

I think it'd be a more energetic and possibly better received show. I would definitely be happy if either option happened.

Desaparecidos would be awesome, much better than any other Connor band, except mof... That would just blow mind, and a middle brother set would top them both...
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

If Desa plays the Other tent then Digital Leather (another Omaha punk band) needs to play the On Tap Lounge. They have one of the best album covers ever!
I thought we all agreed to collectively ignore everything Conor Oberst has done since I'm Wide Awake....
I don't care if they release new material, I just want to hear the songs from Read Music/Speak Spanish. Which is from before I'm Wide Awake
Obviously you haven't heard Conor Oberst live in recent years, otherwise you'd understand what I'm saying. When I say "ignore everything Conor Oberst has done," I literally mean "pay no attention as he takes a stage of any kind."

I saw him at the beginning of the summer and had several friends see him at other venues and I, along with all my friends, thought he sounded good. He wasn't amazing, but he was good. You are a man of logic though, so I simply ask what is it that makes you so against his performances? (To be clear, I'm not defending the material he has released, just saying his live show is enjoyable.)

I've never seen Conor Oberst live, hell I only started really digging into his catalogue a few months ago, all I know is I fucking love desaparecidos and I'd like to see them live and hope for the best
