Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Living close to one of the larger festivals should be reason enough to go.
Even if you can't take off any time from work you can buy 3 day passes and just go for the weekend(assuming you have a M-F job) and the festival is over by Sunday evening.
So I would say do both. That way you and your friends can go to Bonnaroo and then you have a month to get a smaller group together for All Good. It'll be easier after Bonnaroo to convince people because they will be in festival after glow mood.
I don't know if there is somewhere else to find festival comparison info, so I hope it is appropriate to ask here. My deal is this: I enjoyed Bonnaroo immensely the last three years, but I'm thinking of going to All Good instead this year. Reasons: my usual group will not commit to going this year, I live in Ohio, and I am not blown away enough by the lineup to drive that far and hang by myself. Legend whatever/Buckeye Lake is only like 2 - 2.5 hours from home for me, though I ahve not been to that venue in 15 years. What can I expect from it?
Any pros/cons vs Bonnaroo? I don't do anything super bad, but I don't want to get popped by LEO's for indulging at my campsite one night. I'd also prefer not to have all my shiz stolen or vandalized. Is the atmosphere as laid back as at Bonnaroo? There it seems like you are free to party however you like as long as you are not bothering anyone, and I've never had a problem as far as camping or theft or anything. How are the stage setups? Concessions? Getting there would be incredibly easy for me, and I'm sure the lineup will be good, but I'm not sold on the venue.
The staff is really friendly and I never ran into any problems with other festival attendee's either. Bands don't overlap during the day so you can watch every band on the lineup if you want to do that. We camped in VIP, but all of the facilities and in the VIP area were great and the walk was ridiculously short to get to the main festival area. Hopefully that helps! If you have any more specific questions I'll do my best to answer them.

The 2013 All Good Festival lineup includes: Furthur featuring Phil Lesh & Bob Weir Pretty Lights Primus STS9 Grace Potter & the Nocturnals Keller Williams with The Travelin' McCourys Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue Leftover Salmon Papadosio North Mississippi Allstars John Scofield Uberjam Band The Infamous Stringdusters Trevor Hall March Fourth Marching Band The Bright Light Social Hour The Bridge Tribal Seeds The Sheepdogs Nhako and Medicine for the People The Step Kids Plus many more to be announced
How big are their additions, usually? Looks like there could be a decent sized add for that 10ish-12ish spot one day. Liking the John Scofield Uberband & Digital Tape Machine sets.

If I remember correctly, Michael Franti was added late last year and he headlined Sunday. So a headliner will most likely be added again this year. Yonder Mountain String Band was a pretty big addition too.
I'll be there, and I'll likely really enjoy myself (I liked the new setting last year), but this lineup seems suspiciously like the one from 2011.
2011 was a blast though!!
My only hesitation to go this year is the new venue. I'm worried the main reason I loved All Good was the mountain, and I'll be slightly let down this year. I'm really torn.

Might go. Gonna wait for the Forecastle lineup to drop. Then pick one.
Yeah I'm in the same boat. I'm doing roo and only can afford one other fest. Hard to turn down Forecastle (since I live there) but I really like this lineup.
Looks like, with "24/7 access to all GA campgrounds" in the description for the VIP tickets, they're trying to say they've addressed whatever issues there were last year with that.

There are pluses and minuses with the new venue, some of which have been detailed here. I live close by and have been to a gazillion small shows there, including a ton of Hookahvilles. The pluses are there's no winding, mountainous road on the way in. That always, to put it mildly, sucked. I also thought the camping areas were nicer, especially an area they'd cleared out in the woods across the street. It was shady, with plenty of paths and venders nearby. I camped there, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the concert area. I saw the Grateful Dead play there in 1992, and not a lot has changed. It's shaped like a bowl, with trees lining one hill - they decorated them for night - and vendors lining the other hill. You could plop down on the grass, with perfect sight lines. The negatives, as people discussed, were the security, but I saw the arrest reports from the last AG at Marvin's. People shouldn't kid themselves; a ton of people got arrested, both inside and outside the venue. I didn't have any issues with security at Legend Valley, but I've read stories of people who did. The VIP people got treated especially poorly, it seems. My guess is they'll listen to the complaints and fix those. The festival scene is pretty crowded now. If they don't, people will go elsewhere. That said, people are still going to get arrested. Whether it's Roo, Spirit of Suwanee, AG, Hookahville or Summer Camp, that's a fact of life. People need to be mindful of their surroundings. Also, some people complained about the gravel in front of the stage. I didn't mind, but I can understand why it would bother some people. That may be something they try to address, but it could be difficult. If they put down dirt and it rains, the place could turn into a mud pit, which also would prompt complaints. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask me. I'm well versed in LV and the concert scene there.

No M-F job here, but fortunately for scheduling purposes we split up the weekend (which usually sucks but may work in my favor for once), so 3 days may work for me. My problem is that *I* want to do Bonnaroo again but my friends don't, and I don't want to buy both tickets without solid plans in place. And if I do All Good it will most likely have to be solo, since my friends either aren't interested in festivals at all (young kids and families and such), or would not go for an All Good-type lineup at all. So it looks like I'll be delaying my decision to see if my friends will cave in and go to 'Roo, in which case I'll go there for sure and maybe All Good alone, or if they don't go then chances are I'll skip 'Roo and go to All Good.
Fortunately there's plenty of time before both, but I just don't like to wait, especially with the lineups being out now! Just trying to see what the AG experience is like since it changed venues, as I've read mixed reviews about the camping and atmosphere in general.

so to the people who went VIP last year, how was it? i've heard about the problems with being able to enter/exit the VIP grounds, but i think they will have that taken care of this year (hopefully). i've been to bonnaroo the past few years VIP and was just wondering the similarities/differences if anyone has any incite.

I just saw an advertisement for AllGood that said that Primus would be there in 3D. Anyone know anything about this? Have they done the 3D show at a festival? How would they pass out the glasses?
They just did a 3D show at Buku fest last weekend. Glasses were handed out completely randomly by several people...some were even thrown from the stage right before they started. Some chick handed us ours while Flux Pavilion was still on stage as we were walking up to that area.
