Ill start it off again: My most vivid memory from roo was last year when this dude was running around like a monkey, feaking out and picking up bits of dirt out of the grass. I tried to approach him to see if he was okay, and he snapped his head up at me, shrieked, and ran off, monkey style.
My most vivid memory is GOING to Roo, last year , my first one...
anyways comming from houston, texas so its a 13 hour drive...everything goes fine and we finally get to Manchester at like 1:30 AM...so I call my aunt's friends and my aunt and they tell us a backroad to take, sayin its quicker and this and that. So we take that and head towards this farm road. We are on the farm road for about 15 minutes and we start doubting, thinking we had taken the wrong route or missed the exit or what not. all of a sudden there are telephone wires hanging in the middle of the street. We hit it, pull down the telephone pole and the transitor breaks and starts leaking fuel, there is also a small fire but far from the liquid. So we all get out of the car, thinking the car is going to explode. After about 1 minute of looking at it i say forget it get the keys from my friend and move the car, thinking there is no way im missing roo, after driving 13 hours. As I was able to move the car, another car starts comming the opposite direction, followed by another, and i mean fast. I start honking the horn and flashing the lights, all while my friends are waving their hands trying to get them to stop. Well...they dont....and they go FLYING literally all tires come off the ground. Somehow it lands upright and they stop. The car behind them of course...stopped. It turns out that there was a drunk driver that hit the pole from the other side, making it lean down but not fall. So cops come fire trucks the whole shibang. Luckily we didnt have anything on us, even tho they didnt seearch, guess they figured we had enough problems. And then we drive up to the regular exit and it takes FIVE MINUTES TO GET IN. so instead of getting there at 2, we get there at 5, tell the guy at the gate a little of the story and goes...at least you made it for the sunrise....set up camp and went to sleep. but things could only get better from there, so it made everything THAT much better

'04? - Sitting in the comedy tent, trying to stay dry and watching the South Park movie. I was feeling very smurfy when an amazingly loud, beautifully colored and impossibly slow moth flew by. Not a band, but I won't ever forget it. '05? - The enormous crowd of people that slowly encircled us as The Mars Volta played one of the best sets ever. I looked around and somehow we had moved from near the back of the crowd to deep center. It was kind of overwhelming at first. '06 - This guy who was standing in-line ahead of us(w.f. grilled cheese) giving us a wonderful welcome gift right before Radiohead. It would've been awesome anyway, but he DEFINITELY helped.

*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
We have a standing policy about discussing drugs on the board. If you do not know what it is, please find your answer somewhere else. :-) Thank you :-)

It would have been Saturday, over by This Tent. Might have been right around dusk, but I could be wrong on that one, alot of the times at the Roo get blurred for me.
Trying to sleep on Thursday night and hearing some band play just a *fantastic* song. I still don't know if it was the Motet or not, but it could have been
Sitting under a tree with my girlfriend doing an informal survey of female backfat and determining that only the freakishly thin have none.
Shakedown street & the rumor that there was a bust of like 50 lbs of headies that really put a crimp on things.
Free campside delivery.
Hearing MMJ for the first time and just fucking dancing!
Ray-dee-oh-hed with an amazing set and that badass glowstick war during house of cards.
Those mexican corn and cheese things... not sure what they were called.
my favorite group memory from last year was during radiohead... not sure where the inspiration came from (ok I lied, I do know , but one of my friends takes one of our glowsticks that was starting to die, cracks it open, and starts flinging the liquid around our blanket area. he was getting some of it on people around us and i thought they were gonna be pissed but, testament to the spirit (and mental state) of the roo, i think at least half actually enjoyed the improvement. by the time he was done, i looked up at the sky...saw stars. looked down at the ground...still saw stars. looked at the people around me...more stars.
best individual memory is definitely staying for the -entire- sasha set long after my friends retreated to the tent, and watching the sunrise with thousands of the hardest partyers in the country
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!
While waiting in traffic early Thursday morning, my friend was looking at the map and says, "I hope we get in camp P*ssy Galore." My other buddy and I say that we're not lucky enough to get in a camp that perfect. But then as we're pulling up to one of the guys directing traffic he yells, "WELCOME TO CAMP P*SSY GALORE!" I creamed myself.

arepas!
I love those things!
One of my memories is of the Streets set. He dedicated his song "Never went to Church" to his late father and wished him a Happy Fathers Day. It made me call up my dad and wish him one too.
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
I was born in the back seat of a Yellow Cab in a hospital loading zone and with the meter still running. I emerged needing a shave and shouted 'Time Square, and step on it!
Jeeze is there a lot. Some of the most memerbale were just fun comments from people and their quest to find 'ways to enhance the music' to put so delicatly. Still some fo the best memories were seeing soft taco shells wizzing by in the air during the Oysterhead show. Also, just laying on the grass and listening to Bela Fleck and feeling at peace with myself.
I sure hope WSP or Ben Harper can take me there again.
