Me too. I need to get over thinking of the Dave Chappelle parody video and Trapped in the Closet every time I think of R Kelly if I'm going to see his show.

Actually, I think this is EXACTLY what you should be thinking about if you're going to see R. Kelly. Part of that show's entertainment will be how hilarious it all is.
Pitchfork is brilliant. The big revival trend right now is 90's style R&B (Frank Ocean, the Weeknd, The-Dream, Miguel, renewed interest in D'Angelo), so they go out and book the King. Absolutely stellar.
I think this is an excellent point. Plus they get to feed the hipster masses that read their site (before they become post-hipster and become too cool for Pitchfork) all the irony they can eat.
It was a joke, dude. I hate the "hipster" term just as much as you guys do, I was just using it there as shorthand for "music-loving people who check Pitchfork regularly."
I f*cking hate the term. It's just vague enough that it can be used by anyone to deride other people. I don't give a sh*t about what "scenes" people buy into. If someone uses a popular, eclectic music blog to discover music, or shape their taste, then fine. If they only listen to death metal, that's fine too. I just get confused why people are so concerned about others' tastes.

Wasn't directed at you in particular, but there's just this sense that since it's so influential it must be bad/evil/wrong and the people who read it must be bad/evil/wrong. It's just so stupid.

For the record, I wasn't insinuating that the people who read it are bad/evil/wrong. I hate the "hipster" term just as much as you guys. I was just using it to refer to people who read Pitchfork and enjoy irony, I thought maybe I could use the term just once without re-opening the dialogue on the term "hipster" for the billionth time haha.
I think people hate on Pitchfork just because it's natural for some people to want to hate on something after it becomes so influential/successful at what it does. Just like when a smaller band blows up and you have those braindead people who start hating them for their success, while exaggerating how good their "early stuff" is. FWIW, though, I think Pitchfork's influence has severely waned in the past year or two. And again, I actually like Pitchfork.
Jugs, I think he was insinuating that you're only endorsing this lineup out of deference to the almighty Fork.
As for the rest of this lineup, I like Bjork, but couldn't give two sh*ts about Belle & Sebastian. I don't know that I've ever heard one of their songs.
You need to get on that, homie. If You're Feeling Sinister.
If you were only 45 min from Chicago, but knew none of your friends would ride along, would you still go to Pitchfork solo? I can't tell what kind of experience I'm in for if I go it alone.

I prefer solo fests, honestly. You get to decide where you need to be.
