Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
If you think that this is being done solely to add some fun to the Roo audience then you may be overlooking the fact that these are designed to get you to interact with Bonnaroo. Download their app, listen to radio, leave comments on social media (Facebook, twitter, youtube).
It's brilliant actually. They make it convoluted and hard so you have to keep using their stuff and adding to their social media presence. They don't really care how easy/difficult this stuff is....it's just a way to promote their stuff.
Personally I would prefer them just post some text/word clues and have us guess. I also kind of liked when they'd put clues at some local venues and tell people where to find them.....sort of like a scavenger hunt.
Either way....I usually don't go too crazy with the clues. It can get frustrating not knowing the answer and having everyone guess every band haha

Along the lines of what ITM said, I wonder if they will only give clue hints on facebook or twitter in order to steer people there and not give us help here on inforoo?
For the month leading up to the lineup release they are just creating a buzz. It's Roo clues, they are frustrating regardless. Unfortunately for us, we are already beyond frustrated and just about reached our tipping point.
As for the clue. Are there any "super groups" currently, that consist of two members each from two different bands? May be a start on the first line.
Two-by-twos they come Two crabs walking on the beach While the pavement bakes
(firstline): Four members in the band (secondline): perhaps being from maryland, perhaps because it started with only two of them jamming at first (to pavement songs) (thirdline): Animal Collective will be playing Bonnaroo while the band Pavement (which the two crabs both loved) will be getting baked

Yeah but Japandroids seems easy on clue 1 to me as well.
I'm betting that, because they're using the game to introduce people to their various social media, that they'll make the questions a little easier this year. When the game was primarily us and DJJD, I think it made sense to make them difficult and nudge us along with hints. Then last year they kept the difficulty and scaled back the hints and I think they saw even here among the hardcore, by about Clue 7 people started to say "feck this, I'll just wait for Insider...". My guess is, with them trying to get people on Facebook and Twitter playing, the clues will be harder to gather (requiring more time on their toys) and easier to solve.

We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
A warm/hot road OR something heating the road... Highway to Hell by AC/DC? Maybe it could be a song covered by another if not necessarily AC/DC itself.
Also, a line from "On a Highway" by Animal Collective: "On a highway Hypnotized by sunstroke" Heatstroke>Hot sun>Baking the pavement
I could see them linking aesops fables into a clue, but after listening to three aesop rock albums yesterday Animal collective is looking like a way more concrete solution. Either way if its between those two it won't be a disappointment

The members of Animal Collective who love Pavement where in a band called Automine. Around that time, they also had their first experiences with psychedelic drugs like LSD and started to improvise while playing music.
WHILE THE PAVEMENT BAKES.
While: playing WHILE on drugs. Pavement: big fans of PAVEMENT + played covers. Bakes: playing while being BAKED.
