I'm fully expecting the Rangers to struggle initially while they figure out their top 2 lines and realize how to use Rick Nash (yeah, bet you guys forgot the Rangers have Mr. Nash on the top line now).
I'm honestly afraid of the Rangers this season, especially now that they have Nash and knew out number last year. Regardless, I'm just really excited hockey's back and everyone who's a fan can watch it again
The Rangers went from winning every regular season game and the playoff series 4-1 against the Devils like 5 or 6 years ago...then the next year the Devils won the season series. Division rivals know each other so well it's tough to remain dominant over someone for an extended period. It'll be interesting to see what teams have issues early on with chemistry and all that. The Rangers shipped out two of their best forechecking forwards. Nash is a huge beast so he should thrive in the Rangers system, I'm just pumped we're (hopefully) less than 10 days away from opening night.

The first two weeks of this season is going to be ugly. All these teams aren't in NHL shape and it is going to take time before things click. Every game will matter however, so each game will be exciting and I believe the young and quick teams will have the best chance of winning.
Once the schedule comes out I'm headed down to MSG to buy some tickets.

I was so disapointed the new realignment fell through for this very reason. A conference with Rangers, Devils, Flyers, Capitals, and Penguins would just be everyone beating the crap out of each other. Where the Bruins would only have to contend with Montreal and Buffalo.
I also see the Bruins coming out strong from the gate. No major changes on any lines so the chemistry should be there, and most of the team has been playing in other leagues so I don't see playing shape being an issue. Only real question that needs to be answered is what line Dougie Hamilton will be on. I see them putting him on the 2nd line with Seidenberg strictly for his veteran guidance and dropping Ference to the 3rd with McQuiad.
I wonder how long leafs fans were excited about hockey being back before realizing they still root for the leafs
I'm one of those Torontonians who totally hears ya, we have stunk forever and we will stink through this shortened season. I'm also one of those rare Canadians who doesn't give a crap about hockey so take that for what it's worth.
yeah, I got them back in the summer. I thought the plan was looking like a pick up with the Jan 15th games?
It's believed this is what they'll do, but the NHL hasn't officially made any announcements yet. It's the most logical, since the arenas have held these dates open in almost all cases and rescheduling with 30 NHL arenas would take far too long.
Teams should make tickets free for the first week of the season.
Then you'd have riots in Penn Plaza for free Rangers tickets. While that would probably be the most entertaining thing I've ever seen, I don't think that would be best for the fan base.
Some raffle or giveaway type stuff should definitely be taking place, though.
