Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
This will be Bonnaroo year 4 for us. The first time around, our VIP site had a marvelous view of the what stage.
Second time around, we tried our luck with building a wooden deck on our SUV, so that we would have a solid viewing space. That year we came about three cars away to being behind the portapotty canopy, which would have rendered our deck useless. But we ended up getting just as great a view of the stage as the diverse trail of people walking by.
My question is... Are there any strategies to bribing the staffers guiding the cars into the camping plots? Or even trading sites with other rooers?
After reading through this it seems like I'm bragging about our situation... I'm honestly just wondering what we should do.
Thanks for any feedback!

We tried bribing going into VIP last year. I didn't work. We got one guy convinced, but some hyper guy in charge came in a wrecked the whole deal. Too many people to deal with. Our strategy this year is too pull over and act like we're waiting for someone to get through security and scout ahead and wait till the cars line up where we want to be.

If you plan to do this act like your batteries dead/out of gas. Happens ALOT more often then youd imagine. For bribing, it will work for volunteers but if higher ups come to close the lot and see your setup they may say something and put a stray RV there. If you have a companion vehicle you may be able to pull it off but usually you park those in front of your RV.

If it has an Overdrive On/Off button or a Tow/Haul button. Their the same thing. Also if it came with a tow hitch or the mount for the hitch if you didnt get it with purchase

A deck? C'mon guys, you're not the only one attending the festival. Who the hell needs a freaking deck? And just get in the line and follow it to your campsite, "acting like your broke down" just causes a headache for the volunteers parking you and the 70,000 people behind you.

I haven't seen a tow/haul button but it's a hyundai for god sakes what could it tow? Thanks for the feedback
Now hold on. I'm not harming or bothering anyone with it. I'm asking this so we don't end up getting in the way. And I'm not saying we're better than anyone, we just spend a few extra hours on a fun project! And we always let anyone up if they wanted to hang out. If you saw it, you would understand our concern Sorry if I'm frustrating anyone...
I think its cool. We spend some time making our site in VIP super comfortable and fun. We don't have the mean or gumption for a deck, but I like it. You paid for VIP, maximize it. A deck doesn't infringe or block anyone. Go for it.

It's deck year Vann. Because we're better than these guys.
Build a scaffold around/above you car. It might pose problems opening doors, but with some planning i've seen it done. I couldn't find any quick pictures, but Ive seen it at the roo among other places.
