I have decided to start sharing some of the oddest ways to survive Bonnaroo food wise. Tips tricks etc. cheap eats cheap cookware etc. I will also try and cater my recipes so that it will include stuff that does not spoil so easily to help reinforce food safety. That package of Hamburger you got loose in your cooler with your drinks? Well you are marinating your drinks in Watered down blood and increasing your risk of subjecting yourself to food poisoning as bacteria multiplies in warm water like that and then you are sticking your can of beer etc. to your lips. Let's avoid stuff like that separate coolers preferably if you are poor keep your stuff in ziplock bags that are well sealed and not where the blood will mix with the water o.k.? If we were microbiologists and culturing a strain for study that might be a good thing but when that churning in your stomach you have been fighting alll day blows an O RING halfway through if say Paul McCartney while you are spun out of your mind do not blame me because you had to hear Let It Be echoing off of the walls of a Port-o-Potty while you inhale bio-blue fumes doing a mid seat hover. But that is a whole other thread let us get the freak show started. Did you know that you can cook a can of Tuna Fish with a match lighter etc. and a single piece of toilet paper? This should set well with the pyros amongst us and I know there are quite a few. No need for an expensive stove etc. just hot tuna fish and CREATIVITY throw it on a burrito tortilla make a wrap etc. Cooking food is a unique human activity it helps digestion we can get all into homeostasis etc. and calorie expenditure as yor body warms up the food to break it down. Well here is proof of concept (yes I have an odd memory bank) And do me a favor be careful with the fire cook this on something fireproof not in your tent etc. or near flammable grass. And bio-blue is not that stuff you see on Breaking Bad so do not try drying some in the sun for recreational purposes.

Solar Oven your car is going to be parked a few days why not get some use out of it amd have some good nice cookies on Friday Night? Raw cookie dough contains raw eggs so make sure you do this Friday Morning when everything is good and cold and still safe in your cooler just get those cookie blocks that you break apart so you do not have to mix and mess with all of those dishes. And your car will also smell good for the ride home think "snickerdoodles" it helps keep the madness at bay.

Camping stoves are so expensive right? WRONG! They are fairly cheap if you get this concept down or just follow the video! IF you can boil water you can make coffee or tea or noodles or rice or soups or rehydrate a dehydrated meal Just Google Alcohol Stove you can get some cheap pie pans and use extra tent pegs or even use yours off your tent stab them in the ground around the stove and use them to hold up the pie pan and you have a flat top grill with a a little cooking spray. The possibilities are as endless as your creativity at that point!

Get a thermos boil your water at night while it is cool so you are not sweating over a stove in the heat. When you wake up in the morning hot oatmeal, cream of wheat, rice etc. then just add some butter jelly fruit etc.

I figured I would turn us more to the preparing part of the year. Just imagine the pile someone will construct if they read this stuff.

Lay's Potato Chips in a brilliant marketing scheme has solicited people for new chip flavors. There were three chosen they are going to be making and hitting the shelves I now add the unholy trifecta to my Roo pile as soon as I score a bag. Fried Chicken and Waffle Potato Chips! Just think about it breakfast in a bag! All other Wooks will be so jealous of you walking down Shakedown with a bag of those heady people will know what is up and you might even make some new friends if you are not to stingy! I vow to track down and deliver to brunch a couple of bags. Just think about it they already did the cooking at the factory I understand from what I heard about them they even have a hint of butter and syrup! The other two flavors in the contest are so so Siracha and Cheesy Garlic Bread. This could go down better then when I went in to Roo in 2005 my very first year and whipped out part of the hoard of Girl Scout Cookies I purchased from my niece! My neighbors went apeshit on the real real with a bit Cray cray! this has to be the simplest meal ever for camping !

I gotta agree the Siracha and Cheesy Garlic Bread are kinda meh, but Fried Chicken and Waffle is intriguing. I would bring a 1 gallon freezer bag, put the Fried Chicken and Waffle chips in the bag, squirt some Siracha in there, seal it, shake it, die and go to heaven.
