I know lots of people take a 10 by 10 canopy and then a smaller tent. My fiance and I were thinking about bringing this tent: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002PB2HPS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_6?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER and just bringing that instead of a canopy and a tent to save on money. Basically, I'm asking if that tent will be too big for the space we will be getting. This will be our first year going to Bonnaroo.

Are you going regular camping or VIP?
This seems a bit larger than I'd bring, though large tents are doable if you have cool neighbors on either side of you and you guys can work out an agreement. Really, though, you should be prepared to have a space that won't fit that so I'd bring a backup tent or something.

You can make almost any size tent work. I've seen very small and very large tents. Be friendly with your neighbors and you can fit almost anything. However, I wouldn't take that tent in place of a canopy. A canopy is almost a necessity, because you're gonna want as much shade as you can possibly get.
For the same price as that tent, you can get an EZ-UP and a small tent. You're going to be spending minimal time inside your tent due to the heat, and most of your time outside. It's a crap-shoot on how much room you get, it all depends on how close the parking attendants put the cars in your pod. The canopy part of that tent doesn't look like it allows for much airflow, which is a real downfall.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too. It makes more sense to have a smaller tent and a canopy because youll only be sleeping in your tent. And we will just be GA, not VIP

I agree. I'm just have a hard time finding a tent for a decent price. I will keep searching though haha
I think you could fit that in, but I have to echo what everyone said about the ez ups. To make your life much better, get 2 of them. Check Craigslist every day or so. I tried something similar my first year and this year I brought 2 ez ups and tons of sheets to hang to the ground and it was a 394829483% improvement (approximately)

Just to pile on, EZ-Up is an essential part of the Roo camping experience. It really makes a huge difference in the temperature of your tent once the sun goes up. If it isn't rainy, my experience is that sleeping outside your tent under the canopy is your best bet.

The ez up is a definate, set camp up with the ez up facing the sunrise and your tent on the sunset, it will maximize your sunshade. A tarp, rope, and a few stakes and you can build a nice little area. My girl and me take a 3 person eureka tent with an ez up and are always super comfy.
Check refurbished tents, I got a pretty awesome factory outlet eureka for half the original price. The bag the tent went in had a small tear...
I'll echo everyone else here on the value of an EZ-Up. You're gonna be glad to have shelter from the oppressive sun. I didn't have one my first two 'Roos but now I couldn't live without one. Plus if your neighbors weren't as smart you might make some great new friends!
The one and only year that I ever had a problem with space was in 2010.
This was the year that I won tickets and was camped in Guest Camping behing the Which Stage. That year on Wednesday night there was a lot of rain. So when we pulled up they(MNM Parking were trying to park people the best they could to avoid the soggy spots. There were many because behind Which is an area that isn't as trampled upon as the GA camping. Alos Guest Camp is full of press RV's like SPIN and Rolling Stone. So the tiny radio station winners were squeezed in wherever there was room.
Other than that I've always had more that enough room to camp at least 5 people. with multiple tents with an EZ up.
Advice that everyone gives: Befriend your neighbors. If you do most of the time it leads to a larger communal space and eveyone has a great time.
