Me, my brother, and two of our friends are planning to attend our first Roo this year and like most of you, can't contain our excitement. We've already started planning our tent set up and packing list. But what we're confused about are the campsites. I get you can camp by your car, but what about tent-only? Are you directed to a specific area depending on where you parked or can you just find a nice piece of land and set up camp?
Tent Only is a specific section close to the Centeroo entrance. No matter where you are parked, you have to haul all of your stuff to that area and just grab land.
Basically, you go in & they lead you to a parking/camping spot. If you want to keep things in your car & have easy access to them, you may want to stay where they put you. If car is not an issue and/or you get placed far away from Centeroo, you may want to hoof your gear to Tent Only to save yourself a long walk (have had 45 min vs 5 min walks from car to centeroo personally). Also keep in mind that Tent Only starts to fill up fast, so the later you get there the more cramped you are.

And one more question, should we be worried about getting there too late and not having any space to set up? Because we're not sure whether we should Head up Wednesday and hang at Walmart (if that is still a thing) or Thursday.

Yes, you should worry about heading in too late. Tent Only has been smaller and smaller every year with more and more people seeming to want to use it. Space was limited pretty early last year. You don't want to head in too early though because you might get stuck in the Pod 1 lockdown and be stuck there until Thursday morning.
Maybe. It's a crapshoot, really. Don't stress too much about it. I wouldn't set the expectation of being really close, let alone in tent only. I like to manage my expectations when it comes to proximity to Centeroo.

I have to say this. There is no point on the farm that takes 45 minutes to walk to. 15 at most. Things only take 45 minutes if you are not going where you are going.

You may have been lucky to never have been set up that far away before, but three different years I've been over 30 minutes walk from Centeroo. I walk fast and go in as straight of a line as possible with the paths available to walk on. The furthest I've ever camped was about 40 minutes away from Centeroo

I like to walk all over the farm. I go and check out all the pods. It has been 15 minutes from the toll booths. I do walk pretty fast, though I do not jog or run. If it really does take people 30-45 minutes then I totally understand why people would complain. That just has been far from my experiences.

You must not have ever camped in the FamilyGuy sites (at least twice as far as BFE)

Like moose200x said, yup. My $.02 advice - Bring $12 cash with you. If you arrive on Wed. and they aren't quarantining BFE Id suggest hauling just your basics to TO. Then on Thurs. morning pay a festicab $6 (5+tip) to take you back to where your car(s) are parked, grab the rest of your stuff and pay another festicab $6 to ferry you back to TO. If you get in on Thursday and the cabs are running skip step one above. Lazy? You betcha, but I think it's $12 well spent to get setup for the weekend.

Yeah POD 11 is like a minimum 20-30 minute hike if you're not exhausted. So by Sunday it can easily take some 40 or more minutes.
