What is this King Cake vodka you speak of?
I went to Mardis Gras in 2004 and the person I stayed with only offered king cake. He and his family would wake up and have this nice breakfast or a fat dinner and they would only allow us slices of king cake. We had a place to stay for free which was awesome but after 4 days of wal-mart king cake it was basically an insult by that point.
Random fact. This guy invented the fried Twinkie (I shit you not). His daughter was a college friend of mine. Maybe snack cakes are just his hospitable weapon of choice. When we were leaving (to add insult to injury) he gave us our very own king cake for the road.

Now I kind of want to bake a pie for the brunch. There are so many though. What kinds do you guys usually have a lot of? So I know not to make on of those.

I use to work in a fine dining restaurant a few years back when I was a poor cook living in the big city for the first time. Silk pie was on the menu. Having high quality silk pie readily available was like injecting sex directly into the mind of most girls I dated at the time. Silk pie should come with a Warning : THIS IS WHERE BABIES COME FROM. I'll bring some to the orgy....
Not a huge pie fan because I hate traditional pie crust. It just does absolutely nothing for me. That said, my pie of choice is banana cream with graham cracker crust. I'm also down for creme de mint pie with oreo cookie crust. Everything else is a distant second, in my opinion.

vanilla wafers + pecans (or walnuts) + butter = best pie crust
