Usually it comes out around or just after the Lollapalooza announcement. I think last year it was announced in mid April. It will probably be announced around the same time this year.
I stayed at Hostelling International with a big crew last year. Pretty crummy neighbourhood but VERY good hostel. I didn't have any trouble walking home at night with or without people around. The downsides are the area and if you don't have a car you'll have to take a pretty packed shuttle to and from Golden Gate Park. But all in all it was a stellar place to stay especially if you're on a budget.
That hostel might just do it for me. I heard great things about this fest last year and it's not that expensive for me to go there. If all goes well I should be going.

This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

I was going to post a screenshot of this. How in the name of all that is holy is three day parking $195? That's as much as a ticket to the dern concert. They must really want to discourage driving to the festival. I know San Fran is expensive but geez. $65 a day? To park? Wtf
Ya that is special right at the gate parking. If you are willing to walk 15-20 min there is plenty of free parking throughout the whole neighborhood that is directly West of the park. It's just a matter of finding a spot, not too hard if you get there early though.
I'm very indifferent about this lineup. It would typically be a great lineup any other year, but i've either seen or am seeing the entire top line at other fests/shows earlier this year. The rest is just "okay" to me. Macca is a huge get, but obviously i'll be seeing him at Roo.
Torn...I want to go to see some friends in SF, but we'll see.
Yeah, pretty underwhelmed with it too. It's alright, but I've seen most of those already. I'll still consider going so I have to join in the question of how fast does it sell out? Would I be able to get tickets 1 month before the fest?
