Oh, yeah. I did see one negative thing happen this weekend. We were at the very back for The Strokes just chillin' and this girl walks by us. All of a sudden another girl runs up behind her yelling "BITCH" and tries to do a chokeslam on her. Don't know what that was all about, but it got broken up promptly.
Sorry I didn't get to meet anyone - kind of had a 15 year old high school kid with me so I had to keep a watch on her. See everyone at Roo for sure, though.
6. Portugal. The Man LN: I had to leave early because I had been up since 6 am (drove in from Charlotte that morning). I think I left around 1:50. When did they play until? I know Curfew was 2, but it didn't seem like their set was anywhere near being done when I left (around Atomic Man).
Is curfew really 2? I figured it must of been three. They played until about 2:30-40
Trail of Dead were acting like curfew was at 2, that's when they stopped. But yea Ptm played over 30 min. past that.

My wife and I agreed that this was probably the least douchy fest crowd we've ever experienced. The only douchiness I witness were some kids that came up next us during Ryan Adams that were just trying to move up for Tame Impala. They were mocking poor old Ryan Adams and his sappy songs.

Am I the only person who saw Kevin Devine? It was my favorite show of the weekend going in to Tame Impala. He and his band would be the perfect Thursday night fit at Bonnaroo.
I had 2 Arnold Palmer's and a rasberry lemonade. I think the rasberry was better. My wife prefers the salted chocolate.
Chocolate Sea Salt is the classic. You picked two good ones though. Arnold Palmer KOPs are a tradition for me and my dad after running the Peachtree every Fourth of July.

I agree, overall there weren't that many asshats around. Maybe it can be attributed to the bands that were playing don't really attract the "bro" crowd. Though, I did see a few bros that threw a bunch of their garbage on the ground when there were garbage/recycling bins 10 feet away.

3am is the cutoff in Atlanta without a special permit
Finally getting back to normal after that amazing weekend.
Top 5 (in no particular order): Minus the Bear, Mountain Goats, Tame Impala, Mac DeMarco, Interpol (with a hat tip to Wilco, who I've seen several times but that was the best I've heard them sound)
I'm a little disappointed more people didn't get to see Minus the Bear because that show was amazing.
Can't wait to do it all again in another year.
Anyone got any way too early predictions/requests for bands for next year? I'll start off with requests of MMJ, Beck (it has to happen at some point, right?), Damon Albarn (in whatever form), of Montreal, Pinback, Polica, Arctic Monkeys, Thee Oh Sees. I had a longer list that I made while watching The Both but can't seem to find it now.
MMJ Beck, if they haven't given up Blur The Cure Pavement My Bloody Valentine The Breeders Arctic Monkeys one of Mogwai, GYBE, EITS or Sigur Ros (the playlist before Spiritualized late night gave me this idea) Ty Segall Thee Oh Sees Cloud Nothings The Sword Sharon Van Etten Laura Marling St. Vincent Strand Of Oaks Temples Courtney Barnett Unknown Mortal Orchestra Sylvan Esso Torres

Hate to be the barer of bad news, but if you haven't seen Pinback before, you will never again. Rob Crow announced that he was quitting music.
Would VIP passes be worth it for this fest for someone who doesn't partake in alcohol?
No.
Yeah, I second this big time. You could get as close as you wanted for pretty much any show if you played the sides, so no need for VIP there. Free alcohol was cool obviously, but it's definitely the main perk of VIP at this fest.

Unless you have some sort of medical reason to have a close, available, clean bathroom I would say no.
Cool, thanks. I didn't even look into what the perks of VIP were this year since it wasn't financially feasible at the time. Good to know for the future, though.

Doubt Arctic Monkeys are doing shows again by next year. Damon Albarn will be with blur most likely.
Other than that, Bloc Party, Morrissey, The Fratellis, Libertines, Death Cab, Royal Blood, Grouplove, Portugal the Man, MIKA.
I do think they'll have a headliner one night that doesn't usually headline fests. Sweetwood said he likes promoting bands up to headline because they usually are a lot more appreciative. Like The National or Tame Impala.
Oh and Catfish and the Bottlemen and The Killers (even though a lot of you would hate that).
I think Tame Impala would have been up there, but I tied one on too hard for Sunday night. Sorry y'all. It was really great meeting/seeing everyone!
Hahahahaha. No need to be sorry, but you were for sure enjoying yourself. I have a wonderful video of you dancing with rdk with your poster tube and yelling "NO FACEBOOK!" at me. It was fantastic.
Something for you kids out there - these two "old" donkeys made almost 30 sets over the three days plus a late night, got there when the gates opened every morning and left with the closers, and we looked damned good doing it (who can pull off a pink checked button down at a music festival? This guy.). So yeah it is possible to keep your shoes on in the port-a-john and still be alpha as fuck.

And where were you staying, the hour long MARTA ride there every morning and 30 minute Uber home after the latenights makes a big difference.
Oh man - I meant to try the orange vanilla but never got around to it.
And good point on location. But we took like a 25-30 minute walk each morning, out and about and then eventually head to the entrance and then we were an Uber ride to a late night club or restaurant and back in the evening.

Orange vanilla was real good. Did anyone get the Thai Tea? Those fuckers were out of it by the time I got around to buying one

LadyGodzilla got one and said it was the best thing she'd ever eaten. But she says that about every dessert she eats, so take that for what it's worth.
As far as potential acts go for next year's fest, I would like to throw Swans' name into the ring. They should have a new record coming out this time next year, and when I saw them in March, Gira said they'd likely start touring again in April 2016. Can you imagine them closing the Buford Stage one day and a late night at Terminal West? Yes fucking please I say.
I dunno if they're in Sweetwood's wheelhouse or not, but they'd be a must see if they are on next year's bill

It's really an individual question of how much value you place on each of the benefits - free beer and water (not free wine or liquor), close viewing areas, shelter/shade, free food, and nice air conditioned bathrooms.
I like to be close to the stage so I value the viewing areas quite a bit. Even though they weren't always needed, it was nice when they were such as running over from Social Distortion to Wilco, easily grabbing a beer and getting close instead of being at the back of a large crowd.
The shelter/shade and bathrooms don't add a lot for me but are indispensable in getting my wife to come along.
The food wasn't great but the value in it this weekend was time - not having to wait in line at the food trucks.
We both value the beer.
Since you would place no value on the alcohol, some combination of the other benefits would need to be of pretty significant value to you for it to be worth it.
No right or wrong answer. 20 years ago I wouldn't have done it. Today I always do.
While conversing with the Mcintosh salesman at Best Buy, I mentioned I had seen Mastodon at Shaky Knees. He said I did not look like someone that would see that show.

Relaxing 300yrds away from the stage, laying down, in shade, drinking, isn't exactly "seeing the show" to be fair.
