I was actually going to comment that Man Man provides a nice change of pace compared to the rest of the lineup.
I'd also highly recommend seeing The Districts. They're pretty much just out of high school, but you'd never know it. They have a pretty tight sound, and jam out quite a few of their songs. I really think they're gonna blow up soon.
The Man Man show I saw on the Six Demon Bag tour is one of my all time favorite shows. BTW, I listened to that album today for the first time in a while and it's so good. Seeing them on Saturday.
I'm so pumped for this fest! To anyone who's seen Jenny Lewis and Conor Oberst solo before, is it a lot of Rilo Kiley and Bright Eyes material? I hate to be that guy but to avoid the inevitable conflict Saturday afternoon will be, I wanna know where I can best spend my time.

If you haven't seen Man Man live, I cannot stress enough how much of a kickass experience that is. Definitely go see Honus Honus and friends.
Friday definitely, hoping for a American Aquarium-Bright Light Social Hour-Man Man-Band of Skulls-Foals(missed them at Roo last year waiting for Macca)-Gaslight Anthem-National schedule.
I'm in. Bought tix yesterday. Amazing value (talent / $$$) for a festival, especially when I live locally. Bonnaroo headliner rumors are bumming me out a bit. Very happy with these headliners.

I saw her once. She is a fun show to see. Nothing mind blowing, but you feel good leaving.
Pretty sure I'll be down for a Saturday pass for this thing, maybe a Sat and Sunday pass. Just really hope the seemingly inevitable doesn't happen in a Replacements/Modest Mouse conflict.
This was added to the Shaky Knees website since the last time I checked. Atlanta means nothing to me but if there are any locals, any comments appreciated.

According to street view, it looks like the festival is taking place in a gravel pile and a parking lot. Scenic venues ftw.

I've describe the area above. It will be perfectly fine for the fest. Plenty of 'similar' events crowd volume wise are held there.
Will increase space, parking, and reduce chances of a mess if it rains. I hate the move because I can walk to the masquerade but it makes a lot of sense.
It's on the northwest side of town. It's kind of considered Midtown Atlanta, but Midtown is actually across the bridge of the interstate and goes south. The lots shown on the map of where the event takes place are right next to Atlantic Station, which is an outdoor mall. These areas are used for all sorts of events, like the circus, BBQ Festivals, etc. There is a large parking garage under the AMC theater.

The smaller area is called "12 pad" supposed to have been building 12 built there and it never happened. It's where the main tennis courts are located. They can build up around these and you would not really notice them. The larger area is called "the Promenade" and where they have the Cirque Du Soleil and bbq fest like things. They are an easy walk to the restaurants and Ikea and Target. I am really hoping there are "secret stages" like set up in the town center grassy area or in the alley between Mehans and Z Gallery or even in the 12 hotel lobby. All three of those areas have had music of some form. like SnowJam or Jerry Day. There is another huge area that you could set up a whole different stage and festy area that would be in the blue area across from 17th street if they really wanted to get large and in charge. fun fact:the parking deck is the 2nd largest in the world.
Also, I received word that I may be going to San Antonio for my next project, which would start sometime in April. If I end up going there, I most likely will not be coming home for this festival. Bright side is that I will be a little over an hour away from Austin, which, in my world, is THE live music Mecca.
Here is the schedule for 2013. If they change to 4 stages like @sangvincent has said, the scheduling would probably be different. Also, it's in a different venue, and I believe they are expected to end earlier since the late show that has been announced is significantly earlier than last year.
I found the "venue" on Google maps and was trying to get a feel for public transportation around that area. I've never spent any time in Atlanta except for the airport, so I'm unfamiliar with the transit system around there. I looked on the MARTA site. So basically it's trains and buses? Closest train stop is Arts Center? Just trying to get a feel for what I'm working with here.

Yeah Arts Center will be the closest station. You should know that MARTA buses are NOT as reliable as MARTA trains and aren't guaranteed to be on time. Another option could be a short cab ride from Arts Center to Atlantic Station. Or I guess you could walk it if you wanted to, it's not too far.

Yeah, it's the same way in Philly. We have the subway too which really is the backbone of public transit around here. I'll try to avoid the buses if at all possible.
Atlanta has one of the worst public transportation systems in the country. Maybe the worst, I can't remember the report exactly. The taxis are not much better. The best way to get around is Uber. Thank god for Uber.

I hear this all the time. but I've never had any problems with MARTA. I guess you encounter more problems living there.
