Do you guys think there is ANY chance Sufjan could pop up at SK this year? He announced a new album today, and I know he isn't big on festivals, but....
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Sure there's a chance but your best shot is just seeing one of his shows

Oh, I definitely plan to. I have anxiety that he won't do a full tour with this new album, though. Suf is such a recluse these days (always kind of has been, I guess) - hearing the album announcement today got me so pumped but also immediately nervous that it won't come with a tour.

Thought about this all day and I'd actually be totally cool with this.
Oasis was one of my favourite bands when I was younger, love Beck and I hope I can get into Ryan Adams because that's what Shaky Knees is all about.
Can you tell us about Wilco, NMH, Death Cab and MMJ?
I'd think all of those would be billed above High Flying Birds. Also should be noted that it's Noel Gallagher not Liam.
Yeah I pointed that out when he first posted it.
But his source said they're headliners so idk why he would say their names if they weren't. I was just asking about them. I thought it was strange that Alabama Shakes was over Edward Sharpe last year so I would be surprised to see MMJ second line.

Really bummed this falls on the same weekend as Austin Psych Fest, but I'm hoping some of the bands will crossover. Namely Tame Impala, Spiritualized, Mac DeMarco, Night Beats, Fuzz, etc. (I haven't looked at their tours yet to see if possible).
Austin's not so far away that bands couldn't do both, right?

It just depends on what acts I guess.
For example, the Flaming Lips would be an obvious no since they have to fly in lots of confetti cannons and equipment, but Tame Impala (example) could play one on the 8th and one on the 10th.

As someone who lives in Atlanta, there's honestly nothing that great about the venue change. The park is in a not so great part of town and there's no MARTA station within comfortable walking distance. Also, there's really nowhere to park around there either. As far as hotels though, you are near Midtown so theres a lot of options there. Honestly, I would prefer Atlantic Station and the horrible asphalt than this park. Trust me, I wouldn't lay down in the grass if I were you.
I've seen a lot of people cite lack of Marta access as a negative point for the venue change. It's the exact same distance as last year. And it might be even more convenient because it's a straight shot and you don't have to walk a bridge over the highway.
I will agree that the parking decks at Atlantic Station were super convenient but I'm sure you'll be able to park at the civic center or somewhere close by.
What I'm saying is... it'll be super nice to walk around on grass again.

I am genuinely wondering if you could expand on the ground issue.

The ground is only an issue if it rains...drainage is not the best

Rain at Shaky Knees is as certain as death and taxes.
I meant more like trash and grossness in the park. Mud is not a big deal for me. The park is gross. So I'm hoping they maybe keep it closed for a few days before festival set up and not let anyone in and just give it a good...cleaning.
I'm trying to be as nice as possible in regards to explaining this

You can go ahead and call me a douchebag. It's really ok. I deserve it.

Nah, name calling isn't constructive. I just think it's dumb that you've posted multiple times about how the park is gross while trying to be gentle about it. Just say what you're really thinking.
FWIW I agree that the venue change seems odd because it doesn't immediately look like an upgrade. But they had Music Midtown there for years without much of a problem (as far as I can recall) and Shaky Knees has been impeccably run the last two years. No reason to think it won't be the same.
