Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
After reading through Roo and Hangout threads for the past week, I really can't handle catching up in another one. Can anyone give me a tl;dr and get me up to date?
I'll assume that was a joke since you seem to be a pretty young kid, but Ryan Adams is well established and has a solid reputation and good following.
FWIW, Coachella lists him 4th on Sunday (behind 3 people SK wouldn't even look at), so for a smaller festival like Shaky Knees, I'd say that's a pretty good get. New Orleans Jazz Fest has him pretty high, too (above Wilco) and Governor's Ball has him on their third line (just below MMJ and above Noel Gallagher, WoD, etc.)

What are the odds the of Phil Selway? He recently announced a west coast tour that ends in Coachellas so he could do an East Coast leg that goes across SK.
What about Florence? They've been on a lot of festival lists this year so far... and they haven't played in atlanta since MM '13 i don't believe.
This is probably a huge stretch.... but what about Earth Wind & Fire? they're playing bonnaroo... i don't think they're right for this fest but it would be awesome. maybe for MM '15...
Since Pixies are playing Boston Calling I wonder if Shaky Knees will put them in The Replacements spot.
Shit, that's a good guess. That'd be a really sweet grab if the stages are set up like they were last year so I can see them and not have to move for the headliner.

Florence would be a nice grab but EWF is Music Midtown if anything
Can anyone who's been to shaky knees before let me know what time the fest usually starts each day? Also, does it start later in the afternoon on friday, or would you need to take all of Friday off of work to attend?

Depends where you work I guess. If you work in ATL you should be okay but I doubt it. I'd say you'll have to take off

I really like this guess as well. Been trying to think of someone similar to The Replacements that could play there and The Pixies make a lot of sense.
I'm just hoping to get Ryan Adams and 4-5 other names I'm really excited about. That will be enough for me. Last minute wishes:
Ryan Adams Sufjan Stevens The Strokes The Dismemberment Plan My longshot wish: Cat Stevens
OK Productions (a promoter in Atlanta) keeps teasing a big announcement for May 8 at Cobb Energy Center... I have a feeling that could be a Sufjan show. Perfect venue for a guy like him, and check out the Twitter exchange from today:

The music starts at 12:30 every day though I didn't go in earlier than 3:00 any of the days last year. So if you live nearby you could definitely work half a day at least and still get to see lots of great shows that day.

Sufjan coming to Atlanta is cool, but it's the same weekend as Shaky Knees, which is awful. But hopefully it means that he's touring and will play Birmingham and/or Chattanooga on another day.

Just to help everyone get pumped up before the announcement, a friend in the industry just told me that Shaky Knees would be the best lineup released so far and that I would be floored with the lineup. And he's somewhat of a pessimist, so that's saying something for him to say that.

So what lineup would make you "be floored"?
ha. Good question. I'm a little more easily impressed than he is so that won't help much. But it isn't what we've seen so far from other festivals, so maybe some new stuff?
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
