Yeah, I was sitting around with a bunch of friends, watching old MTV Unplugged performances and talking about all the fest lineups and we started discussing Shaky Knees and nobody mentioned Noel. I was dumbfounded, so I calmly said, "man, Noel Gallagher... That's gonna be awesome to see him even though Liam won't be there. I wonder what old stuff he will play" and I got a bunch of confused looks until one of them said that they think I'm the only one who knows him!!! Wtf?! I was like "guys, that's half of fucking Oasis, the group that was compared to the Beatles!" And one of them had the audacity to insist "yeah, but they've only got those two big hits, right?" I was up in arms. I immediately turned off the show we were watching and made them listen to Morning Glory.
I might have to find some of you guys to watch Noel with unless I end up finding some oasis lovers to go with me
Half the World Away is gonna be magical
There are so many songs I WANT to hear but I would understand him shying away from doing a lot of Oasis because it's his solo show so idk how much Oasis we will get. But the one that I think is pretty likely and I really can't wait for is Don't Look Back in Anger. I'm probably gonna sob as I sing along, but She's Electric would probably be my highest hope for this set.

At least half of his set during his first solo tour were Oasis songs. Of course, he'll have a new album out but it'd be a shame if he didn't throw Oasis fans some songs he hasn't played in a while. I would love Part of the Queue, Falling Down, or even Magic Pie.

"Underneath the Sky" and "Cigarettes and Alcohol" are two others I'm hoping for

I think we'll still here Don't Look Back in Anger, Half the World Away and Supersonic.

Their most recent show in the UK this month had only four Oasis songs (in a 15-song setlist):
(It's Good) To Be Free Digsy's Dinner Don't Look Back in Anger Fade Away
Not that it means anything for this festival set, probably have a better sense in March when they start up a bunch of European dates again.

Looking at the handful of US shows that Noel did in 2012. They were mostly 14 songs, 6 being Oasis covers....including Wonderwall and Don't Look Back in Anger.
Champagne Supernova was the last original Oasis song that was performed live by Oasis. I don't think Noel has played it much with his band. Could be wrong though.

If anyone is interested in what certain Oasis songs would sound like with Noel on vocals, there's a pretty famous bootleg called Noel Gets to the Point: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEE5B98C351E1F18B

Hopefully he never does that song without Liam. Noel could never deliver that song in the same way Liam did.
Granted, Noel is a much better singer now, but it wouldn't be right in my opinion.

I'm in for Shaky Knees this year. Got cheated out of making it due to my job last year (May is when we go from dead to max speed in the nursery industry) but I have already gotten it in writing that I'm cleared for take off this year. So with 52 pages it looks like I've got some catching up to do.
I just had my dreams crushed. After listening to Ride yesterday and seeing that they're playing Sun. I was like, man, what if it's Spiritualized/Ride/Noel Gallagher on Sun.? Man, that would be perfect. But Noel has a show somewhere else Sun. Sorry to even bring this up guys, but you should share the pain I just had when I realized it can't happen.

That would've been the best b2b2b by a long shot. It's ok, I can live with it, just the fact that I'll beseeing all three, much less, in one weekend is mind blowing to me
So can I buy tickets to that Lightning Bolt show or is it a "pay at the door" thing?
E: online, that is.
The venue tickets through ticketalternative. I'm don't know if the Lightning Bolt tickets are available yet.
Stoked you're going.
I really had a tough time figuring out if I could go. The stars aligned and the wife is at a conference and the kids are at Grandma's. Then Lightning Bolt. Then Ride. Then John Grant. There was no real chance of me missing this.
I'll be at FIDLAR but in the back. I've seen them several times and am totally ok with that.

That's great news. I finally get to make good on my fantasy of meeting you and annoying the shit out of you with relentless music nerd questions.

Good luck finding him. He can be quite the festival ninja.
