Last year late night schedule is still on the app. About every show had an opener that came on at 11:30 and played for 45 mins. Then the artist that everybody bought tickets for comes on at 12:30 and plays till 2.
I hope it's like that again this year. Really don't want leave The Strokes early.
You guys are wild animals. It is just too much for me to do the fest all day then go to a show till 2am. I'll probably be zzzzzzzz by like midnight. Haha
Will lose my sh*t if Built to Spill open their fest set with "Stop the Show"
Still hurts a bit that they have a late night the same night as Spiritualized, both shows are going to be otherworldly but when you have the chance to see J Spaceman perform past midnight you take that option ten times out of ten

One big plus from a non-camping fest...being able to sleep until 11 or 12 in the day makes the difference.

What do y'all think are the chances they make this an acoustic set? I could see that being pretty cool (and I've watched some cool shows on YouTube, like this one from a show in Iceland) and a nice change from the next night.
And man, how did I miss this in-store (or outside of store) from Criminal Records in Atlanta in 2011? That show at Variety Playhouse was incredible.

Man, I don't know.
I love Spiritualized and all, but... Built To Spill is playing a tiny room.
It's going to be pretty mind-blowing. They've said that they are touring with a trio of guitarists, so I intend to sit a few inches away from the amps and let my face melt off.

Quit acting like you're an old woman! I'm ancient now and I can still do it.

Like sang_xcx said, I don't think there are many incorrect choices. Both shows are going to be pretty amazing.

Yeah, I just asked myself, "Forrest, if it were a Bonnaroo latenight schedule, what would you do?" The answer is Spiritualized for me but mannnnn Built to Spill is a close second (because I saw them recently.) It's just like latenight at bonnaroo, every show is a pretty rare show and they will all kickass, you just gotta go with your gut and know you'll have a good time.

I get what you're saying & agree.
But generally, my rule of thumb is: the smaller the venue the better the show. If you're in the front row at The Earl, you're literally 3 ft away from the band.
I still haven't been to Terminal West, but I'll be going next Friday for the first time to see The Dean Ween Band. It holds a lot more people than the Earl, correct?

I agree with your "the smaller the venue, the better the show" statement but, from what I've read, it's not like Terminal West is huge or anything. The reported maximum number of tickets sold to shows there is only 600. Also, I plan on leaving shaky knees early to ensure that I am on the rail for Spiritualized and if you look at pictures from shows at Terminal West, the front row is literally against the stage. Though, the stage is elevated a bit to make viewing better for those in the back, so it's not like you're eye to eye with the artists playing, but you're really close. And the sound and lighting are supposedly amazing at Terminal West.

Can somebody advise me a bit here? I'm thinking of staying at the La Quinta Inn north of Central Park in Smyrna (a 13 mile trip mostly on 75S). What is parking gonna be like each day near the venue (price wise and availability)? Should I plan to arrive in Atlanta way early every morning (especially Friday since people will be working)? I'm hoping not to pay more than $15/day.
My other option was the Best Western at the Peachtrees which has an affiliated parking garage where I could leave my car every day for $15. Is it worth spending $35/night x 2 nights more at the Best Western for that convenience vs. driving in every day from La Quinta and finding parking?

You should probably stay closer to the park. Staying in Smyrna and driving in sounds like a headache.

I don't have a ticket to the festival yet or any of the after shows, but I took care of my travel down and back today. $13.50 total. Fuck yeah, Megabus!
Is there a criteria to how the winner is being chosen? Like do you make an appeal for why you want/deserve the ticket... Or is it just random selection?
