Really hoping to grab tickets for both the Spiritualized and Ride after shows tomorrow. Doubt they both sell out right at 10am but they both seem to be the most popular after shows amongst people itt. Reading around about Terminal West a bit, and found that its capacity is 600 people. Can anyone who has been to the venue confirm??
Another question for any locals - is it going to be a total bitch hailing a cab to and from Terminal West each night before and after the show?? I know cabbing/uber is the only viable way to get to the venue from the Central Park area but have no idea what the cab situation in Atlanta is like. What's the part of town Terminal West is located in like? Thanks in advance for any answers to the above questions! Wish I knew the city more than I did but looking forward to doing some discovering in May.

Not sure where you're from, but Atlanta is a place where just about everyone owns a car. Our city is really spread out... so we aren't the land of taxis.
Getting a ride to Terminal West from the fest probably won't be tough - taxi drivers will be circling the park like vultures. Getting a taxi at 1am, however, may require a little work (ie - calling for service). Just make backup plans in case there isn't a ride waiting for you.
As for the area, I don't hang in West Midtown very often, so maybe someone else can help you out. Generally speaking, west ATL doesn't have the best reputation.

I don't recommend walking to any of the after shows. Uber is your friend. From what I understand, The area immediately around terminal west is old industrial parks and train depots.
Thanks thejot and Doug G, appreciate your responses. I'm coming down from Philly and have never been to Atlanta before so I'm totally unfamiliar with the lay of the land. Have to imagine catching a cab/uber at 1am from Terminal West shouldn't be the most difficult thing in the world to do however

Atlanta stays vibrant & happening until the wee hours of the morning on weekends, for better or worse. So, no, getting a ride should be fairly easy. Just don't expect one to be waiting for you when you walk out the door.
Oh, and assuming you're 18, go to the Clermont Lounge.
Atlanta is renowned for its strip clubs. I'm a guy who honestly feels out-of-place in most of those environments, but the Clermont is a very different sort of place. If you go, I promise that it will be an experience you'll never forget.
Hell, I'll probably end up there at some point that weekend. When my friends & I get really drunk it almost becomes a dare to end the night at the Clermont.

I'm in the same boat. My plan of attack is Spiritualized then Ride. I figure Jason will sell out first even though I'm personally more excited about Ride.

Do not count on getting a cab after a show at Terminal West. It's uber or nothing there. Usually there are only a couple cabs that wait out there after the show. If you miss one of those you are walking up the hill to Marietta Street to try to get one there. One time I left there at like 2:30 or 3am with a dead phone and had to walk two or three miles to the CNN center to get a cab.
West Midtown is fun if you're interested in drinking or eating really good food. My favorite drinking establishments there are Five Seasons Brewery and Monday Night Brewery. Monday Night has weird hours so you probably won't be able to go there. Bar Taco and JCT can be fun for sitting around and drinking. Northside Tavern is a very old dive bar. Ormsby's is fun but it gets super packed, mainly with bros. Go there really early or really late.
If you want late night eats you have to go to Delia's Chicken Sausage Stand. If you're still there in the morning go to Octane, Sublime Donuts, West Egg or Silver Skillet.
The area feels safe, I guess. It's mostly Tech students or younger professionals with some money. My main complaint with west midtown is that it can go from super packed to DEAD in like half an hour. I feel like every time I go there when I start the night it's jammed then everyone disappears.
"Who the f*ck is Ride and WHY am I paying $55 to see them?"
Greatest text ever.
In for Spiritualized and Ride.
Your wife is the best.
I was impressed as we had a half hour conversation about them and Shaky Knees and why this was important to me. It just dawned on me how much she could care less.
Either way, she used my email and print at home tickets. I'm going to see Ride. End of story.
On my god, I got tickets to Spiritualized and Ride, I can not wait. The funny part is that me and all my friends that are going are just broke college kids so idk how many others will even be willing to spend more money to see either of these shows. All I know is I've got my tickets and I'm going to be in heaven all weekend
We should organize a pre-game party for Spiritualized. Sounds like the majority that are going on here are doing the late night show.
Terminal West has a restaurant attached to it called Stationside. Probably the easiest place to make that happen. Five Seasons Brewing (a brewpub) is also walking/stumbling distance.
Help. I'm stupid. How do I buy LN tickets. I'm not seeing a link anywhere.
Edit: jk. Getting Spiritualized now, but it won't let me click the PTM link...
Edit 2: Ok, I'm in for both PTM & Spiritualized. I had to get the PTM the tickets through the TM app for some reason because the link on the interwebz wasn't working and TM online sucks... But I got them and I'm official!
Holding off on the James Blake though until I know for sure if I can change my travel plans around... Anyone think that will sell out soonish though?
Listening to a bunch of Spiritualized at work today and totally forgot the song "Hold On" existed. One of his most beautiful and underappreciated songs IMO
So, in a stroke of luck, maybe luck- yet TBD- my Megabus reservation was just cancelled due to the trip being cancelled. Go on Megabus to reschedule, and there is now a trip each way for $1. I can also reschedule this to be there Thursday now..... Seriously, my travel is costing me $2 now, pus fees and taxes.

MEGABUSSSSSS, that's fucking awesome, good for you. God knows we all need to save as much money as possible in order to afford hotels in downtown ATL
I will be in for spiritualized assuming it doesn't sell out. Gotta wait a bit before buying tix...very excited for the weekend as a whole! For those in the know, will spiritualized start at 1130? Or will there be an opener?
