Spiritualized > Ryan Adams > Ride > Tame Impala was the best closing of a fest!! Ever!!!! So many feels!! Great times were had by all!
This times five hundred trillion to infinity and beyond
Ryan Adams finishing Come Pick Me Up, followed by climbing up a hill as Ride began playing Polar Bear has to be a top 5 moment of the decade for me so far
Missed my bus this morning. Had 3 alarms set and the girl called me. Technology let me down. Catch the bus out tonight I suppose as I am getting ready to go switch my ticket.

That's rough. I actually woke up ten minutes before my alarm, so I was down there early. Unfortunately, the bus was half an hour late getting there. I did have fun time watching a lady who was drunk or high or crazy rant about the bus being late.

Megabus really does define cheap travel. Not much consistency between the online support team and the employees working the bus/stations. The support team told me I could switch my bus ticket at the station for like a $5 or $10 fee, but when I got to the station to do that they told me they did no such thing. I had to get another ticket for tonight. Oh well. My fault for missing the bus this morning, but annoying.
Some thoughts as I kill time about the weekend.
- I loved the layout of the festival. The hills behind/beside the main stage with trees all around was the spot to be during the day. Good view, and you could stay cool.
- They need more food trucks. Yesterday (Sunday) didn't have bad lines...but Friday and Saturday was ridiculous.
- It's ironic that I have been to two Roo's and didn't meet anybody from inforoo, but spent time together with people on the board last year at Forecastle and this past weekend. Glad there was such a strong presence of inforoo this weekend, as it made my first "solo" fest one of my best trips to date (besides this whole bus experience deal).
- I am suppose to graduate the weekend of Shaky Knees next year, already trying to plot how to get out of doing the ceremonies and come down here. I already went through graduation weekend once, this weekend was a lot more fun. I think I will only know two or three people in my program that is scheduled to graduate with me anyways. I think this fest would be a good first for my girlfriend as well. She has never did anything more than a day-pass, and by that time she will be financially able to get her own ticket, help with hotel, etc.
- This prob makes me sound a lot older than I am, but I have got to the point in which I prefer a city fest in which you can get a cheap hotel within walking distance over a camping festival. Being able to sleep in and having hot showers makes a huge difference on your energy for the weekend.
- Caught the last 10 mins of Metz yesterday when they played at the record store. It was only a 25 min set, which was disappointing...but the little bit I heard was awesome. The idea of small sets at a record store during a city fest I think is interesting.
Top 5 of the weekend for me: Tame Impala Spiritualized (I enjoyed both sets, but the show at Terminal West....damn) TV on the Radio Ryan Adams NMH
Mac DeMarco and Fidlar were both awesome sets as well.

My bus was over two hours late. It was the fucking worst.
If that happens tonight I am going to be so pissed. I'm still upset that I missed the bus this morning.
Yeah for your sanity I hope it doesn't happen either. The only silver lining is that it's megabus' policy if your bus is more than two hours late you get a full refund!

My luck it will be an hour and forty-five minute delay and I get nothing out of besides getting home when the sun rises tomorrow.

Well now that I'm rested after the absolute hell I've dealt with the past fourteen hours, I can share my thoughts.
First and foremost I think a couple thank you's are due.
Thank you to thepeppers and Monie for being awesome roommates. You guys are great people. Never have I been so immediately comfortable around a couple of strangers.
Thank you to @radiatebased for being my festival pal for the weekend. Amazingly I went to the festival on my own and only ended up watching two shows on my own.
Thank you to for the ticket to Spiritualized. I'm pretty sure I annoyed Dave Maynar and thepeppers by telling them during the show how fucking awesome it was. Gah damn it was other worldly. I imagine they play "Walkin' with Jesus" as you enter the pearly gates.
Thank you to Dave Maynar for introducing me to everyone and not actually dick punching me.
Thank you to Phyre Fest for the laughs and paying for my taxi.
Also, I thought rdk had bursted my ear drum yesterday. That was the funniest way anyone has ever introduced themselves to me. And It was awesome to meet NoAge. It was cool to find out he enjoys my posts as much as I enjoy his.
Because of the kindness from you guys I was able to see my favorite band ever for the first time!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhh man the Strokes were so fucking good.
- I loved the alternating stages set up. The only time is was an inconvenience is when I really wanted to see back to back acts such as DFA1979 and American Football.
- The free Water was really good. Tasted so much better than Bonnaroo's water.
- Having a hotel so close to the venue was amazing. It was only a five minute walk and I was able to go back and fourth all day.
All in all it was a great trip and I will definitely be returning next year!
1. Pixies (only beating NMH cuz better set time, funner crowd, and my first time seeing them) 2. Neutral Milk Hotel 3. FIDLAR (best crowd ever) 4. Wavves 5. Best Coast 6. Mac Demarco 7. Mitski 8. Tame Impala 9. Ride 10. Death From Above 1979
