Does anyone have any music articles they remember getting a big kick out of? I found this piece to be hilarious and worth sharing. He is kinda doing what he is making fun of, but it's still great.
Plus, this is the best comment I've ever seen on a story...

i met a gal from the band in chicago one night a few years ago when my band was playing down the street from her band. she seemed nice on the street. if she reads this, i am saying hello. i also love the article. made me happy, so i am saying hello to the writer if he reads this. i was once in LA and met a fellow named Kevin Bronson. he was so nice (he bought me a drink!), and i heard he writes about bands in LA. if he reads this, i am saying hello. i think most people are really nice. i am not a professional critic, but i think the article was a super fun read. i might just have to listen to the gal's band sometime. if they are as nice as her, i think i would hang with the band. if the band is reading this, i am saying hello. if any of you come to pennsylvania, i will go out to dinner with you. but you must come to a food stop near me. i live near gettysburg. thank you so much for allowing me to get these thoughts out. this was almost as fun as reading the article. but the article trumps most everything that happened to me today. most everything, yet not everything. cheers!
Agreed. But in all fairness no group of fans takes such a fundamentally goofy and lighthearted band so goddamned seriously.
True, these days it is more about and excuse to get all my 90's friends together for a weekend of nostalgia, and more drugs than HST. I still have a blast though.
I haven't seen them live since 2010, and I walked away from the show incredibly disappointed. I did hear that the following night they were great, though. If they ever land near me on tour, I'll probably go check them out again, but probably not going to travel for them.
Back in the day though, I never got the seriousness. Even a comment like "yeah, I like the band, but sometimes I wish they'd ditch the nonsense lyrics and focus a bit more" would be met with TREY AND TOM MARSHALL CREATE POETRY WHY DONT YOU UNDERSTAND DIE DIE DIE, and it was weird.
So all this started when I was first on tour, essentially all the tour rats had nothing to do after Jerry died so they went on Phish tour to support their shitty lifestyle, sell drugs, and badmouth Phish vs. TGD.
That being said since the reunion I have seen some stinkers (ATL last year) and some really really amazing shows where they played like they had not since 1995. 7/4/2010 is up there for the best one I ever saw outside a fest. Word on the street is there will be a festival this August at the Pocono's raceway, and that will be amazing. Also check out any of the shows from the labor day runs the past two years, those have been high quality as well.
