Just wondering because neither of the emails I use for volunteering ( one of my friends is stuck in the 1980s.. paypal? email? facebook? whats that? - so i set up an email / facebook specificially for volunteering purposes for him )recieved anything the first go round... id really like to do prefest this year, and feel like ive earned it ( ive volunteered 4 years between WET / old crew run by Matt / Karen )but i know how fast those spots fill up...
You should definitely get priority if you've volunteered 4 times already. I got into pre-fest after only one stint as a volunteer. The key is to fill out the application immediately and send in your deposit asap too. I don't think they process the application until your deposit is received.
Yeah my main concern is the pre fest spots filling up before i ever even can fill out an application. My deposit is ready to go today, that isn't a problem. Like I said though I somehow seem to have been left off the past VOL list provided by WET ( BOTH of my addys too...weird... ) The only thing I can think of is I cancelled last year do to some personal issues that came up a few months before Roo. Plenty of time, got my deposit back and everything....
anyway, im sure someone will let us know when they go out, but just checking
I did the post show clean up with Clean Vibes in '07 and '09. We worked hard, but it was a great experience overall. There's something kind of cool about helping return the farm to some sense of normalcy after the mayhem that is Bonnaroo. It really gives you an appreciation for the hard work that's put in from everyone involved. Not to mention it makes me appreciate those who clean up their campsite before departing! There's nothing worse then coming across the campsites of people who just flagrantly don't give a quack and leave their site absolutely trashed.
Ground scores are always a fun thing as well, you really do find some crazy things. I did the post show cleanup at Rothbury '08 as well. I remember we found a box full of confiscated corn ingesting devices, everyone got to grab a free one and take it home as a souvenir, still have/use mine At Rothbury, they were nice enough to let all the post show volunteers get a free day at the indoor waterpark all to ourselves for the hard work we were doing. Let me just say, that waterpark with a headfull was quite a blast!
Haven't done the volunteering thing since '09, but I wouldn't hesitate to do pre or post show again if I was short on cash. I just don't have a desire to do during the fest though. I'm fine working for my ticket before or after, but I want to enjoy all that Bonnaroo has to offer without any responsibilities.
So to those that set up, keep things running, or clean up afterwards...my hats off to you!
Sorry for the confusion, I'm working Staff not Volunteering, thats why I have gotten my email already.
Regular veteran volunteers should have gotten an email a while back talking about going internal and no more WET and linking to the website and whatnot... we havent gotten email updates or anything since then. I don't know if cancelling volunteering last year makes a difference, but maybe we'll be sure to post in here when we find out about apps opening up. As of now, it says the 18th, but not sure if it's earlier for returning volunteers.
Just saw this plain email accidentally went into my Spam folder from 8 hours ago:
"We've added a lot of info to the website about the C'roos (check it out at www.bonnaroo.com/get-involved/volunteers/). One of the things is that the date for applications is March 18th, but we are looking to post them earlier to returning volunteers. So keep an eye on your inbox for this information!
Oh and BONNAROOOOOOO!!!"
I wonder if we'll get access to apps a week ahead maybe. If so, that'd be only a few days away on the 11th.

EDIT: I just emailed them to ask if they had a date picked yet (I'm guessing Friday). I also asked how likely it is for toll booth volunteers to be done by Friday evening, like before and if the 2nd 6-hour shift could be on wed/thurs/fri mixed in with the 12-hour shift guaranteed to be 1 of those days. *anxious for answers*
"We are working to get the applications sent out hopefully in the next 24 hours. We're just waiting on a few things from our developers and the go ahead to send them. Either way, anyone who gets signed up in from the time we launch them will be first in line to be processed. The system allows us to process them in the order they are received so we're still going to be able to give returning volunteers priority.
As far as Toll Booths go. The majority of the Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are all 12 hour shifts and the remaining 6 hour shifts are Thurs, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. So yes, it's possible, but not guaranteed."

I'm looking at the application/registration and looks like we can request to work with 3 friends, name our top 5 bands and top 5 preferred C'roos.
Ellie, I can't find this. Could you post a link. All I can find are the FAQ's.
doublecheck your spam... but it might not be sent to *every* returning volunteer just yet, from the way they wrote this email.
This is what mine said: "The C’Roo is now accepting applications for returning volunteers! We’re excited to bring you a new volunteer program at Bonnaroo 2013. Applications are now available to a limited group of returning volunteers and will be available to everyone on our returning list within the next 24 hours. We won’t be accepting applications from new volunteers until Monday so be sure to get yours in before then to get your best bet at the most desirable spots. Applications are processed in the order that they are received. Before applying be sure you’ve read through all of the available information on the website including the FAQ and C’roo Descriptions. Remember that you will have to pay your $25 application fee as part of the application. Deposits are not due until your application has been accepted. Applicants who get accepted on to The C’Roo will be sent instructions on how to pay the $300 deposit. All applications must be in by no later than May 17th, 2013 to be considered. To apply for a position on one of our Festival C’roos go here: www.shiftboard.com/bonnaroo/ To apply for a position on one of our Clean Vibes C’roos go here: www.cervistech.com/acts/console.php?console_id=0065&console_type=event Remember that you must choose one or the other (Festival or Clean Vibes) and you will not be able to transfer your application if you sign up for one and decide later you want to switch. It’s almost here!!!!"

If we're a first time volunteer applicant do we have to wait until Monday or can I just apply now through the link you just posted?

It shows options for first time volunteers, but you're not supposed to have the link yet until Monday. I'd wait for 1st thing Monday. They gave us the link cause returning volunteers get priority by having the opportunity to turn in apps a few days earlier.
If you read the email, it was only sent out to a LIMITED group of returning volunteers and hopefully today everyone should get their own email. It could be good to look at though and prep yourself for who you want to work with, what top Croos you want, etc so you can fill out it more quickly when you're allowed to.
Just got email info on app and submitted deposit. I'm in there baby!
You put in your deposit already, how? Enlighten me![/Sorry warped, I got carried away. I filled out application and submitted my application fee (25.00).
**QUESTION**: What is the major difference between Festival C'roo and Clean Vibes C'roo? I was hoping to working during show through Clean Vibes, but they are asking for my $300 NOW along with my $25 registration fee. The Bonnaroo website says that all volunteers will pay $25 now, and that our $300 can wait until May 17th. Why is Clean Vibes asking for this money now? Thoughts? Help? I volunteered in 2010 with WET and it was super easy. Why am I le confused?
you will not be assigned a croo until you pay your 300...if you wait til may to pay you will not get the croo you want...even though clean vibes is technically different, they operate the same way

After a few days of lurking and much reading, I believe I will make my first ever trip to Bonnaroo. What better way to enjoy my first ever camping music festival, than be volunteering in the Volunteer State (my former and future home). According to what I've read in this thread, it sounds like new vol apps will begin being accepted on Monday? I plan on filling out the app and paying the $25 fee ASAP. I've wanted to attend for years and just never did it. I believe a mid-life crisis may be kicking in........

For those who have applied before, how does it work once you submit the application as far as sending in your deposit? Can this be done as soon as you apply or do you have to wait to hear back before you can pay the 300 and secure your spot? Also, for first year apps how good are my chances of getting Prefest if I apply first thing on Monday?

I'm really hoping to join PreFest, hopefully if I submit it at 12am on Monday I can get in... How long is the wait time usually between when you submit the app and getting a response as to whether you're accepted or not to make the deposit payment?

Fill out the app on Monday. You can only pay the deposit after you have been accepted. Within 72 hours of paying the deposit, you will be assigned a "C'roo." Odds are significantly lower that a first timer gets prefest but I'm not aware of any rule that first timers are never prefest. Especially with this new "GuRoo" position, it seems there may be a few less returning vols for regular prefest spots.
I'd make sure to put Tollbooth as your second choice since they lose less time on the farm than other during-fest vols. Finally, you really ought to consider whether you'd be OK with getting during-fest and possibly missing shows. Once you put down the $300 deposit it's gone.
Tollbooths are NOT the same this year (WET guaranteed ending by Friday night in past years, but we are not with WET anymore). Parking is what you should now say if you want to do "during fest" but be done early. It's guaranteed over by Friday night... Tollbooth has 2 shifts. 1 of them is 12-hour that's either wed/thurs/fri and then the 2nd shift is 6-hour and it's thurs/fri/SAT/SUN. I had to email them to find this out. I'm hoping the people that apply earlier have the earlier shifts but I don't know if they have the skills to pull that off or not.
Parking is less fun, in my opinion since youre on your feet and in the sun a lot more, but I like ending early. Tollbooth was fun greeting everyone from all over the US and Canada and whatnot. Put on wristbands, hand out the guidebooks and trash bags. Make sure the cars are marked properly and hangtags are there so that they can be guided properly by the parking folks ahead after leaving the tollbooth. I put tollbooth and parking as my 2 C'roos (and no, they didnt give me an error message or anything for not putting 5, but since we can't number them, I didnt want to risk getting the other 3)
Your deposit is refundable (minus $25 cancellation fee) until May 17th. And you can try to find someone that'll agree to switch shifts once they're assigned around May 27th.
I put my app in Wednesday night. No acceptance response yet. I'm thinking it'll maybe show up next week at the earliest.
