I'm a HUGE Foals fan, but Holy Fire is one of the most disappointing albums I've heard in months if not years.
Are you being serious??... I wouldn't call it spectacular by any means but, maybe a 7 or 8 out of 10. Everyone has their own opinion but I think it's still a good album which shows their diversity. Tracks range from the catchy/poppy My Number, to the heavier Inhaler, then on to more of their original style in Late Night(which reminds me of the new Spanish Sahara with the slow beautiful build up). Also love the Prelude that starts the album its very eerie leads well into Inhaler. Will admit I think the Album gets a little weaker towards the end specifically the last 2-3 tracks but I'm still a big fan and stoked to see them @ Roo.
Holy Fire is pretty lackluster in my opinion as well. Nowhere near the level of their first two albums. Also, I would argue that Antidotes should be the first album that a newbie checks out - they've been playing more songs off of that album than Total Life on this tour, and is more representative of their mathy/poppy roots. The first half of Total Life is equally as awesome.

Seeing these guys in Atlanta this week. (At the Goat Farm no less. Is there a better venue for them?) ... One of my most anticipated shows for Bonnaroo and I imagine Tuesday will be a nice warmup.
I caught them at 9:30 Club on the 5th and it was a very good show. They sounded very tight, but it's not an artist whose discography I know top to bottom so I couldn't tell you how everything sounded relative to the albums but I knew about 2/3 the songs and they were as expected. Yannis was going nuts the whole time, tons of interaction and loved talking to the audience. Twice he climbed up onto the upper tier floor of the club off one of the speakers and then tossed himself down. It wasn't a terribly adventurous jump down, but he had the guitar on him so it was probably a safe call. Anyway, here's him jumping down for the second time.
Here's a picture of the setlist I took while walking. No I couldn't be bothered to get a more clear picture.
Holy sh*t. Never really messed with these guys but saw their whole set while waiting for Jim James rail, and they tore my face off.
Well put. I listened to a few tracks before the festival and liked them. Wandered into the set because nothing else was going on at the time, and walked away a fan. I love everything about them.
(1) Damon Albarn (2) Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (3) King Khan & His Shrines (4) Ty Segall (5) Ms Lauryn Hill (6) Darkside (7) Kanye (8) Janelle Monae (9) Goat (10) Meshuggah.

Woah! I can't remember how I ended up at Foals but I had 0 intention of going to their show. It was fantastic and one of the best sets I saw all weekend.

This was one of my favorite shows of the weekend as well - went in not very familiar with them/not sure if I'd like them much. I walked out of the tent just smiling to myself for awhile. So much energy - I'm definitely a fan now!

This is my story. I was jusy listening to "Inhaler" and I'm pretty sure it was when this chorus kicked in at the show that I realized Foals is not just another sleepy crappy indie band. What an incredible set.
