I’ve always wanted to do a multi night run and with Hollywood Bowl being walking distance, might as well, eh? Just waiting for a good deal on a 3 Day Pass through Cash or Trade.

Multiple night runs are awesome. As a newbie I find it’s nice to find a groove watching multiple shows in a row, and it’s nice the 3 night run is in walking distance.

Closest I’ve done to a multi night run was Knoxville - Bonnaroo - Bonnaroo in 2009. Hell of a time.
Haven’t seen Phish since Raleigh 2015 after finnnaaally getting Maze on my 10th show. Considering the 3 night Hollywood Bowl run.
Am I gonna have fun? That Tik Tok has me worried I’m not allowed to enjoy myself.
you're going to have fun. don't worry about that tik tok it's hyperbolic. but like most hyperbole it has elements of truth to it. a few things hit home for me:
1. the way his voice is a little high and quick when he says "uhh yeah first set was good dude". i have said that exact thing in that exact way when i'm describing a set that was fine.
2. the way he keeps talking about how it's cool everybody is having fun, but in a way that makes him seem a little above it all. i don't think i'm "above it all" when i say that, hopefully, but similar to #1 i frequently say shit like that when describing a show that to me was fine.
edit: generally phish has been playing great since 2015. not everybody likes the newer trey "love and light" songs (i love them and think he's really hit his stride with this type of song with songs like "Ruby Waves" and "A Wave of Hope" which IMO are AWESOME to hear live), and machine gun Trey is long gone and he's not always hitting his notes perfectly, but the setlists are frequently creative and the jams are frequently awesome. The jams in particularly weren't frequently awesome from say 2009-2013, they've gotten a lot more comfortable with improvisation since then.
Sweet!! I like hearing that their jams have gotten better since I was seeing them. That’s always what drew me to them. I’m pretty much a happy camper as long as I get a Reba, Maze, My Friend My Friend, or Split Open and Melt during the run.
Sounds like a buddy of mine who’s never seen Phish is in for the run. Took him to Dead and Co last year and it blew his mind. Can’t wait to see what Phish does to him : )
everybody's always asking for a phish playlist to introduce newbies to phish. what about a playlist with inaccessible tracks to scare away potential fans?
my rules:
1. no more than ten songs 2. had to be songs i genuinely love and are generally fun to hear live for your average phish fan.

Lol Carini was the song that got me into Phish, from the first few notes I was like is this the coolest thing ever created?! Then they opened Roo 19 with it (first Phish show) then Alabama first show after Covid they played my fav version I’ve gotten live. I think I’ve got Carini 3/4 times now and idk if it’ll ever get old.

one of my favorites, i've had sixteen Carinis and that opening riff always makes my head explode.
but like play that for my wife, who is a knowledgeable music person but who hates jamband bullshit and she is in absolute hell. loud, sloppy, shouting nonsense lyrics, and typically a long discordant jam.

That’s how my bff is. He can’t stand jam bands, besides Billy but that’s bluegrass lol. I’m sure he’d dislike it too if I played it for him.
Dang 16 Carinis, v jealous. Do you have a fav Carini you’ve seen live, that you know off the top of your head? How many times have you seen Phish now? What’s the craziest/most unique Setlist you’ve got?
We’ve only seen them 11 times but this was prob my most unique Setlist.
This was our first time seeing them outside of Roo and got blown away/blessed. I remember being at the show like I don’t know any of these songs but dang this is awesome.

lmao, that harpua > killing in the name of > harpua was one of my friends first shows. we weren't sitting together but i caught up with him after in the lot, i told him "most phish shows aren't normally like that" and he was like "yeah jack, i picked up on that when they started playing rage against the machine".
come to think i'm not sure that guy ever went to another show.
Gosh thank you. I’ve been checking livephish since last night to see how long the jams were in set 2 but haven’t uploaded the show yet.
That’s insane ! 44 min, can’t wait to listen. My friend when to the 2nd show of tour. The vids she posted were awesome, can’t wait to see that rig in Alpharetta. Wilmys gonna be too small for the whole thing so looking for the that Sunday show too.
I've always been like a 30-50% phan, last night was my 4th Phish show since '94. The first half of set 2 last night was stellar. I was working for the first set, I'm a volunteer usher at The Greek, but Maze, Bathtub Gin, and Possum were pretty solid highlights from set one that I was able to hear.
The first two times I saw them were great shows '94 at UC Santa Barbara and '97 at Ventura Fairgrounds and given the time between those two shows and my last two it's hard to compare them. I'd say out of the last 2 times I've seen them (last night and '13 at Bill Graham Civic) last night blew the '13 show out of the water. The Greek is just a lovely venue that brings out the best in artists.
The balloon scene outside after the show was weird. So many people selling but didn't really see anyone buying them. I know this has always been a thing that follows them around, it just felt weirder walking out of the show last night than I remember it.

Did you do the run?
Also really enjoyed the last two nights set lists. I need to reup my livephish and crank out these shows.
Saw a pic of Mike with Paul Dano and Abby from Broad City.
Hope ya had a blast if you ended up swinging the shows

Nah I ended up scoring a really great deal on Coachella tickets and did that instead.
Phans of Inforoo, my favorite local-to-me jamband, Kendall Street Company is playing an aftershow for Phish in July! Deets below. Seen these cats over a dozen times from house shows to selling out decent sized venues in Richmond, they never disappoint! This is a big year for KSC as they’re booked for Peach Fest and Hulaween for the first time, jump on the wagon!

Trey explained that My Sweet One and Dog Faced Boy were both written about the same person by Fish and that one was at the beginning of the relationship and the other at the end, finally asking the crowd "can you guess which?" Mike "bantered" a bit and showed off his fight bell. During the banter after My Sweet One, Page teased "Charge!" twice.

Set 2 night 2 and set 1 night 1, looking freaking sick.
Tbh all sets look awesome just my top two from those without listening obvy. Carini, The Squirming Coil , Prince Caspian to end that set would sent me into the cosmos.
