I wish Florida got some love. At least we get TAB at Hula
unfortunately phish almost never plays florida these days. only nine shows in the 3.0 era, and eight of them were for new years runs in miami. last miami NYE run was 2014, phish seems pretty well set on NYE being at MSG in perpetuity. hard to argue with it, no venue knows phish better than MSG, and it's personally my favorite place to see phish. though trey did offhandedly remark in an interview last summer that they should return to miami, so who knows. last florida show was 10/16/2016 in jacksonville.

I love that Mike teased Moby Dick. It was the 23rd anniversary of the Deer Creek Moby Dick show, which is in contention for my favorite Phish show I’ve attended.
Upcoming Shows: 11/8 - Goose @ The Andrew J. Brady Center 11/13 - Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros w/ The Wolfpack & The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra @ Cincinnati Music Hall 2/14 - Alan Walker @ The Fillmore Detroit 4/15 - Ben Folds w/ The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra @ Cincinnati Music Hall

PHISH, TUESDAY 07/11/2000 DEER CREEK MUSIC CENTER Noblesville, IN
SET 1: Ya Mar, The Moma Dance, Uncle Pen, Drowned, Chalk Dust Torture Reprise > Chalk Dust Torture, Theme From the Bottom > Cavern
SET 2: Also Sprach Zarathustra > Down with Disease -> Moby Dick > Down with Disease > Runaway Jim -> Moby Dick, Back on the Train -> Moby Dick > Back on the Train, Harry Hood > Moby Dick, Hold Your Head Up > Terrapin > Hold Your Head Up > Moby Dick[1] > Hold Your Head Up, Character Zero
ENCORE: First Tube > Moby Dick > Chalk Dust Torture Reprise
[1] Trey on drums and Fish on vacuum.
In keeping with the theme of the second set, Hood included a Moby Dick tease. Trey introduced Fish as “Russell Crowe” during Terrapin. The Moby Dick inside of the HYHU jam featured Trey on drums and Fish on vacuum. The Chalk Dust Reprise was akin to the version last played on December 10, 1994 (391 shows), with the band singing the words “Chalk Dust Torture” over varied music. At the end of the encore, Trey joked that, if anyone missed anything, they should read the book or see the movie. Trey also teased Moby Dick at the end of the encore's Chalk Dust Reprise. Prior to this show, Moby Dick had not been played since November 29, 1997 (172 shows).
just posting the setlist because it's awesome. also both shows had a 2001 > DWD set II opener, that's cool.

Phish absolutely fucks
i’m sure there’s some recency bias, but i’d venture to say last night was my show of the year so far. that may also be because i’ve been wanting to catch Phish for a while, but that’s just where i’m at right now lol
really couldn’t have asked for a better first show and definitely makes me feel better about not going back up there tonight
Blaze On opener to get things started rocked and then seeing the spectacle of YEM later on in that set was a ton of fun. then the first half of S2 just absolutely ripped until they slowed it down some with A Lonely Trip and Oblivion. Chalkdust Torture has been one of my favorites since diving deeper so was really pumped and then what can be said about the encore? just the ultimate mix of insanity and goofiness that epitomizes Phish and what they do best.
aside from the music, that light rig is magical and absolutely the coolest i’ve ever seen
crowd wise, it was very solid and had some great people seen along the way but it also felt infinitely more wooky than any other jam show i’ve been to which i didn’t expect lol certainly not a bad thing and was honestly quite entertaining! was telling postjack that when Icculus started (which Teddy and I had no clue what was going on), this guy who had been going crazy all night started viciously stripping down and going berserk, absolutely thought he was going all the way nude but ended up stopping at the underwear and we just couldn’t stop laughing
all in all, absolutely exquisite experience and i can’t wait to keep going back. gonna head home today with a recently recovered cat and some work to get done, but chances are high that i swing at least one show at Bridgestone in October

awesome, makes me happy to read this, i'm glad you had a great show. "the ultimate mix of insanity and goofiness that epitomizes Phish and what they do best" is a great observation. i love all kinds of Phish, i love it when they rock, I love it when they are super serious, but at their core they are a bunch of silly art school kids. Silly Phish is my favorite Phish.
and yeah people always talk about it but Kuroda really is the best lighting guy in the game. hard to appreciate it fully through streams, need to see it live to really get it.
and yeah phish crowds are still pretty wild. wilder in the South then elsewhere i think. happy you got to see a guy strip down to his underwear. glad he didn't puke on you or anything.
Phish have the best lights in the game not even close. browell I was so happy for you, following that Setlist last night. Can’t wait for Sunday. I’m juiced up. Loved the review glad you and Teddy had a nice time and that the kitty is doing well.
Also I’m going to do a Nashville show too let’s make it happen

Yeah that show was fun as hell, gonna echo most of what browell said and add that Orion is definitely my new favorite outdoor venue, that place is so cool! Great sound and sight lines, there's not a bad seat in the house. Well set up, tons of food and bev options, and apparently they stay open long after the show is over and have a DJ and shit in the plaza outside. Pretty much no downside

Sorry to quad post but that guy stripping to his undies when Icculus started is something I'll never forget. Utterly indescribable but I bet y'all know what I mean

What fucking book was he talking about anyway
The Helping Friendly Book. Listen to "Col Forbins Ascent > Shine > Fly Famous Mockingbird" on that NYE 1995 it will explain everything.
3post1jack1 did you go to any of the first two shows? We got Billy Friday in Cary and Phish Sunday. Can’t flipping wait
Nah I wasn't in Huntsville. Crazy jealous of N1 that encore was bananas. I hit the road tomorrow for Alpharetta. No expectations yadda yadda but feels like it'll be a killer run.

Anyone heading to Burgettstown next weekend? I'm for sure heading to Saturday (dragging my wife to her first show, which should be an experience.) I work across the street from Star Lake so I may just head over once I get off on Friday if I can clear it with the wife to watch our two kids solo that night.
