friday night it was beasties on what 8:30 to 10 David Byrne which 8:45 to 10:45. Phish on what 11-2 and Phoenix started in that tent at 11:30, Public Enemy started this tent at 12:30 and Femi Kuti started the other tent at 12.
my point is that phish was only unopposed for thirty minutes. maybe mumford doesn't run wholly unopposed either, or is that just the way friday nights go?
I'm thinking that's because that was Phish's "Late Night" set, their full unopposed "headlining" set was Sunday night since Phish was billed to play two shows that year. Just a theory though.

Agreed, I think Mumford and Sons will be unopposed just like all the other headliners typically are. I was just giving a reason for why that didn't happen for Phish's Friday night set in '09.

I don't deny their rampant popularity. They are obviously very popular and will draw a very large crowd. You're right there is no way they aren't unopposed.
Gogol Bordello could pull Thursday off before flying to UK for the Download Festival?
No chance. After playin' a Which set and then curatin' the Other Tent there is no way they would be scheduled fer Thursday. Unless we finally get a Thursday night headliner.

I love that Coachella has two weekends but think it would be great if Thursday could expand their lineup (such as headliners,etc.) to grow the festival.
Having said that it IS my first Roo and I gathered there is no chance.

As a red-blooded American male, I can assure you that the Jonas brothers were not excited about such things, no matter how much they appeared to be in public.
I saw Purity Ring a couple months back and they were a bit lackluster. Just a very young duo who have no stage presence and were clearly a bit swept up with their sudden popularity. They had a creative stage design though so if their set is at night it might be cool.

I'm glad I got input from someone who has actually seen them live! As far as their music goes, I heard lofticries 2 years ago and fell in love. I've read some interviews and they talked about how they blew up a lot faster than they could even fathom and they couldn't play live shows for a while, so I know they're still pretty fresh. I also read about Corin's stage set up and that really intrigued me. I've been watching some live shows and they seem to be getting better. I just really want that psychedelic experience And I have a lot of respect foe their music, I know how difficult it is to recreate live.

In my opinion, they are They're a must see for me. I'm not judging them live, because they are still fresh, but from what I've seen I doubt I'll be disappointed. Their eerily romantic lyrics and her child like voice drew me in the first time I heard them.

Hell yeah! I'm content by myself, but I'd much rather be with people as into it as I am It's my first year so I'm going to be superrrr pumped regardless. I'm already bouncing off the walls when anyone brings it up! Haha spastic
