So many more that would be good... but has no one seriously mentioned the Avett Brothers!? Am I the only one that be stoked if they came back?
They're headlining Forecastle the next month. I don't think AC would double book a band of that size at two of their own festivals which are one month and one state apart.

This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
What does that have to do with Roo though? That happened about a year ago.
Doesn't fit the Bonnaroo vibe. Plus what if the dude decided to up and slug someone in the front row? Legitimate concern.
Ha, I've actually met the guy before and he's really nice, although he was already drunk and it was barely noon. I was shocked when I heard the news about his girlfriend, to be honest that has taken a lot away from his music for me
MGMT seems likely. Can anyone confirm that their live show isn't all that great? I've heard that quite a bit, but I have yet to see them myself. I don't see Postal Service happening just because of their schedule. Yeah Yeah Yeahs seem to be on every US Festival's bill this summer - I dont see why Roo would be any different. There is wide open space on their schedule between Firefly and Hangout. Some other guesses: Galactic, Yonder Mtn. String Band, Cave Singers, idk personally I'd like some jam. Foxygen would be cool too.

After making mock schedules it doesn't seem like we are missing a lot of bands. I could see them adding the 2 Superjams they are working on and maybe a few smaller bands, but nothing too big.

I got to see MGMT at Roo in 09. It was one of the top 3 worst shows I've ever seen at Bonnaroo.

I was totally with it until they played Kids then closed with a new song. Who does that?

First time I saw them they were terrible, so completely off their heads that they had to be carried out of the venue by some fans. Really turned me off of their music.
A year later, I was really digging Congratulations (still do) and saw them at Lolla 2010. Fantastic show, really spot on instrumentation. The only weak point is Andrew's vocals but hes getting better. If you're fine with your bands being psychedelic and not super hyper active, they're great. Miles away from the synth-pop that some people expect of them.

See, I didn't even like their first album. Congratulations was awesome, though.
Is Mutemath too big of an add? Their tour page shows a big gap between May 30 and June 22 and they have played Roo before. I loved Odd Soul and would love to see them again on the farm

Where are all these extra Superjam rumors coming from?
“There is another SuperJam or two already in the works,” Capps hints. “The SuperJam is one of the special, iconic features of Bonnaroo—in some cases the ideas of the SuperJam take a while to come together and gel with the right plays. Having a SuperJam with Jim James is something that has been discussed for two or three years now and it is really exciting to see it come together.”
So he says the Jim James superjam took 2-3 years to come together, so maybe he's saying for upcoming years they're already trying to put stuff together? You would think they'd be happy with the Soul superjam and Ed Helms thing coming together in one year, but I guess you never know!

I'd say that's what they meant. I mean, given the context, it seems like she's saying Superjams take so long to be put together that they're already planning on next year's.

I saw MGMT at Roo in 09 and was less than impressed. The following year Congratulations came out and my girlfriend wanted to see them, so I got tickets for the two of us. I really didn't wanna go but was so happy I did. They were so much better this time around. I think they had been playing/practicing and were really tight and seemed much more confident. Such an awesome show! Lightyears better than their Roo performance.

I agree with all the MGMT talk, 2009 show was iffy but the time I saw them at the Ryman for Congratulations was stellar. Anyone think this Wolfmother/Andrew Stockdale return can translate into an addition? I saw them on the Cosmic Egg tour and have wanted more ever since. soundcloud.com/official-wolfmother/sets/record

They also stopped playing Kids and Time to Pretend, for awhile (still?). They had a bit of radiohead complex for awhile, in that they were too cool to play their hits.

Last few setlists have them not playing Kids. It's a good song that's fun live, but I'm totally cool with them dropping it. It just doesn't fit the sound they're going after now.
