Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Since this is my first Roo, and we're going VIP, I guess the adage "you don't know what you're missing" can apply. The things that persuaded me to scrounge up the dough for the VIP ticket were numerous. A tshirt and poster would be fantastic, but to echo Roo vet responses, closer viewing was a top contender in the pros list. (Along with access to A/C, showers, expedited entry into Centeroo, closer proximity to the action, larger camp "lot", etc.) I think it all boils down to perspective, yo! Then, the nerdy economist in me thinks about all the other saved expenses such as fuel since we have the "private" map to avoid the Interstate.

If the unnecessary sarcastic posts are indicative of the people who have been shouting out for the VIP camping group - I'm so in. lol. These are my kind of people.

I will be crushed if the which stage VIP area is moved. I'm hoping the fact that I never really saw it full (except for Skrillex) didn't make them change it.

It's time we start thinking positive! The VIP pit WILL remain for us to enjoy! (RIGHT BONNAROO????!)
The Bonnaroo app has been updated w/map that shows VIP viewing areas! Since this is my first roo I have no Frame if reference, but maybe someone with more experience could take a look and see if everything looks the same.

!!! Yes can a vet chime in here? i see what your talking about.
Its easier to see if you turn off all the pins.
Edit: If you go to the right where the wristband graphic is it still says 2012 on that wristband tho.

Yeah, the map is not updated in the app yet. I'm guessing if it still says VIP viewing area when it's updated, we're good. In 2011, it showed bleachers on the map, further back. If those return.....
Just got my package via UPS! In my VIP info pamphlet it says this about viewing areas. "Two special viewing areas have been created for visitors with VIP wristbands. One exclusive VIP viewing area is located on the left side facing the What stage and another on the right side facing the which stage." So does this sound like the same set up as last year?
VIP at What is great for chillin'. Not a prime viewing spot by any means, but it's nice to have an open space to sit, dance, drink, do whatever you want without interference from the usually rampant What stage traffic.

But not advisable for Sir Paul or other things of such magnitude right?
Depends on how you wanna rock at Paul! I enjoyed the hell out of Arcade Fire from the Hill, but that's just because I was in a state where I wanted space and the ability to sit down if I needed to. You can hear perfectly and the view of the stage and screens is completely unobstructed. But you are still a few hundred feet away from the stage. If you wanna see facial details of the performers, probably best to break free from the VIP confines and aim to get closer.
Plus, you can't beat the view of the crowd from the Hill during a headliner show: looking out over a sea of 80,000+ people gives you a unique perspective. The only other view that comes close is the ferris wheel...
Basically, if you want to SEE a show, watch from the Hill; if you want to EXPERIENCE a show, be in the crowd. You'll have a far more comfortable time at the former, especially if you're not a fan of the "packt like sardines in a crushed tin box " feeling.

You received a VIP pamphlet? All I received regarding VIP in mine was the tag to hang in your car and the vouchers for the merchandise tent.
The t-shirts and posters are still included! Just got this email:
Thank you for purchasing VIP tickets for the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.
As part of your Bonnaroo VIP package purchase, one Bonnaroo Tshirt and one poster will be available for each ticket holder at the festival. Upon arriving on-site, each VIP ticket holder will receive a voucher for their tshirt & poster, which can be redeemed at the Information Trailer in the VIP Campground.
However, to ensure the proper shirts are available, we need you to select the quantities and sizes you need. Go here to select your t-shirt sizes.
Thank you for taking the time to complete our Tshirt selection survey, and see you at Bonnaroo!

Well I am glad that VIP still has it's perks and that I WILL be getting my tshirt & poster! Come on, it's the little things in life!
But I really hope this VIP viewing area that I hear about is back this year because we didn't make it to 'Roo last year we didn't get to check it out. There are DEFINITELY a few shows I would love to see up close!
As far as the which VIP viewing area is concerned, how early do you have to be to get a decent spot? Can you stroll up near show time and still get a pretty decent view? (Opposed to strolling late in GA)
Thanks for posting this. We bought our vip tickets a week after you got your email, and there was nothing in our correspondence or package about reserving your shirt sizes. The link was still working, so hopefully we get shirts that fit.
