Last year was my first Bonnaroo, and it cost ~$1,490 to go. This year VIP tickets are around $1,550 with fees. Do the prices increase every year, or could there be something new for VIP? Or could it be because of lineup expenses?
Also, whoever had the Steve Buscemi flag, thanks! I used that all weekend to find my way home!

What's up with no t-shirt or poster??? Just bought VIP tickets, went VIP in 2010 & 2011 but missed out on Bonnaroo last year. They increased the price of tickets and took away the shirt & poster?? Anyone know why? I tweeted AC Ent & Bonnaroo and haven't heard a reply yet...

Ok correction, on another page it does state the a t-shirt and poster are included but in year's past didn't we order the shirt size when ordering tickets or was it later? I can't remember, geez I miss one year and all my Bonnaroo experience is forgotten, ha ha.
So we ARE getting a poster and t-shirt this year? This is my first year going VIP and I remember hearing about those but then it wasn't on Bonnaroo's website (that I could see.)
"VIP ticketholders also get exclusive viewing areas for the What and Which stages, and a commemorative Bonnaroo merchandise package, including two t-shirts and posters."
But on the actual VIP tickets sight it doesn't state the t-shirt/poster option....like I said I tweeted Bonnaroo & AC Ent but haven't gotten an answer, I may shoot them an email.

Ok so here is the reply from Bonnaroo:
"Thanks for your interest in Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, and for getting in touch. We're thrilled to hear you like this year's lineup. Details for this year's VIP packages are still being finalized. We cannot guarantee that a free shirt and a poster will be included. Hopefully the great performances this year will make up for any lapses in the VIP package."
Which means...I don't think we will get any shirt or posters...unless we buy it outright
Wow, what a shitty response. A free t shirt and shitty poster are never going to be a deal breaker for me, but the fact that they're basically saying 'prepare for lapses in the VIP package' is a little concerning to me considering I just shelled out nearly $1600.

I totally agree! I bought the VIP tickets already but I feel that it was definitely another perk of VIP. Since I didn't go to Bonnaroo last year I'm curious to see how VIP has improved. I've seen reports of last years improvements and hope many of those are still in place this year. Plus I'm still going to hope for a shirt & poster. Like you said we did just shell out $1600....
I also didn't do VIP last year, but I did do VIP in 2011. I am hoping for as great as an experience as I had in 2011, but with the Which stage VIP improvements (which I hope are still in place), it could be even better! But it's sure hard to know what we're paying for when details are so scarce and any details provided are incredibly vague.
What are these which stage perks I've been hearing about? (1st/Roo/VIP)
The VIP viewing area of the Which is directly to the right of the stage, every show I saw there I had a fantastic view of the band and plenty of room to wiggle.

I wrote them and got the same reply. My suggestion is that if you are holding a VIP ticket or are planning on purchasing one, write info@bonnaroo.com and ask about the tshirt and poster. The more negative feedback they get, the less likely they are to take away perks. I think it's kind of pooey that they raised prices and lowered the benefits.
UPDATE: I just had my hubby write them as well. Fingers crossed!
That Which stage viewing area was one of the best perk IMO. I would be really disappointed if they took that away.
Oh ya.. I ended up buying VIP just for this reason after doing a lil homework. If they took that away or went back to how they used to do it I'd be so sad. For those who asked it was just very nice viewing space for the stage substantially better than in years past.

They're going to give you the merch package. I got a very different response from them the other day.
My guess, from having worked in customer service: the people answering info@bonnaroo.com don't always have more information than is listed on the website, and the people who write the info for the website don't always know what kind of info people are seeking.

Hubert, if you don't mind me asking, what response did you receive?

If you can afford VIP, surely you can afford a $20 t-shirt

(but I get your point)
Hope it's a good change. Price increase and taking away something that people are used to and appreciate. I was excited about getting some merch!! Lol
My husband and I probably shouldn't really have went VIP but we got a little more back in taxes and bought them before we really had time to talk ourselves out of it. (But I'm glad we did and I'm do stoked on our first Bonnarooooooo!!)

Actually, we bought our tickets back in November, then got hit hard by the IRS. We're not living paycheck-to-paycheck, but we certainly wouldn't be going VIP had I known we would owe so much. Cutting expenses will mean cutting out t-shirts and things unless we get good news from the CPA we hired.
But any other normal day, 20 bucks wouldn't bother me as much as the principle of it all.
