Hey guys,
quick question, this will be my second roo this june. The first time i attended, 2 friends and I rented a Mazda 5 which is a normal sized vehicle. This year we are going with a few extra people (somewhere between 5-7), so we decided to rent a large van. The van we decided on is this mercedes sprinter van, which is a 9 passenger van. Its perfect for the amount of people, has wifi, and a huge trunk space to pack all our tents, popups, cots, etc.. My question is, do you think i could get away with this van in regular GA camping? Especially, if i "swing wide", and i am going to have a few other cars in our group.
Do you think id get away with it better if we do the "groop camping"?
The only thing Bonnaroo.com say is that:
" RV is defined as any vehicle larger either in length, width or height than a normal 15-passenger van. All oversized vehicles, trailers, campers that are towed, and busses are considered RVs."
The is only a 9 passenger vehicle. I have a feeling ive seen vehicles bigger than this or the same size in GA camping before. But i dont want to show up and have them tell me this thing needed RV parking. The picture and specs are below, thank you!
two years ago I passed two of those sprinters everyday on the way to centeroo. They were parked about 15 feet from each other with a big tarp connecting the two. It looked like a great setup
this might have to be considered an RV due to the cargo capacity in the back. the 15 passenger vans have no cargo capacity, possibly making them smaller than the 9 passenger sprinter. best thing I can suggest is check out the length of the Ford E-series (E350 I believe) 15 passenger vans and compare that to the sprinter. If the sprinter is longer you may need the RV pass.

If that Sprinter is 23', it is longer than the standard Ford E-350 (15 passenger version) van. E350's will fit in a normal parking spot, that won't... I drive these every day. Also remember, with a larger vehicle in General Admission, you have much less room to camp.
