Hey guys!
May I first add that I am incredibly happy to see this thread exist. I've been lurking for a few days, trying to gather everything I want to ask. I apologize if I have posted this in the wrong thread, please let me know. I'm very excited to get to know you all within the up coming months and hopefully will get to meet some of you all!
My name is Schylar and my husbands name is Jack. This will be our first ever Bonnaroo trip. We live in Knoxville.
Okay, first off... I wish with all my heart, I could be true with nature. You know, with the earth and everything that is in nature. Unfortunately, I admit that I am a total baby when it comes to bugs and dirt and not showering. My husband pokes fun, because he's just a giant beardy face that grew up in the mountains of Kentucky and really knows how to camp.
So my first question is: Does your bonnaroo ticket comes with the hotel/shuttle package or is that additional? I really like the idea of coming back to my room in the morning to sleep a few hours in an air conditioned room before going back out all night.
Our other option is going VIP because I know you have access to air conditioned areas. Is there a time limit that you can spend in there? Any reason why we couldn't chill in there consecutively to try to recoup?
I am sure I will have plenty more questions as the time get closer but I need help deciding which way to go.

GA's don't come with a shuttle pass. I'm honestly not sure if they sell shuttle passes seperate from the Hotel Packages.I'm hoping someone can answer that for you.

You can bask in the AC for as long as you want. The VIP tent even has a TV with the shows streaming while you relax. I'd go VIP before I did a hotel, honestly. You're not going to have time to worry about bugs.

I am pretty sure that, last year, they only did shuttles passes as part of the hotel packages probably in an effort to keep a limit on the shuttles being overwhelmed. You can always just do day parking and drive back and forth yourself if you liked the hotel route but found the packages too pricey.
I'm sorry, haha, I meant if the hotel packages came with a GA ticket or if you had to purchase a ticket additionally.
Ugh, I just noticed this on the website:
The following hotel packages are available for ticket holders. Please note, packages do not include tickets to the festival or shuttles. This is for usage of the hotel room only. Occupancy options include king, queen and double rooms. Smoking and non-smoking rooms available.
In the bonnaroo website, it says the shuttle takes you from the airport directly to the festival, and to beware of the long walk to tent only, or GA camping. So I'm sure shuttle passes are not limited to only those doing hotel packages. Also when scheduling your flights, and I'm surprised they don't include this info on the website, I had to contact them via email, but they said that on The Monday after Bonnaroo, you shouldn't plan on taking the shuttle back to the airport if your flight leaves before 9am.

Anybody who would fly from Knoxville to Nashville for Roo has lost their damn minds.
Most of the hotel packages include shuttle to and from the festival. I think that's what you're looking for, not an airport shuttle. Also, just remember the shuttle runs once a day according to the websites. It will be almost impossible for you to book a hotel in Manchester because AC books them up. The KOA in Manchester may still have availability and they may still have cabins which means AC. Be prepared to pay more for a campsite then you've ever paid before. I don't remember the frequency but they actually run a limo back and forth to the farm.

One thing that you might keep in mind, but probably can't count on, is that there are some private shuttles that run to and from the festival. I stayed at a hotel in Murfreesboro last year and they had notices at the front desk that a shuttle would take you to and from the festival for $40 a person (presumably $40 each way). That sounds ridiculously expensive to me, but there were a few people staying at the same hotel who used it. According to the people at the desk, you could just call and they would pick you up whenever you wanted. I would imagine many of the area hotels have similar arrangements as that looks pretty profitable. You might call ahead if you stay at a hotel that isn't involved in the official bonnaroo package to check it out. Enjoy your first trip to the farm!

I never thought getting a hotel at Roo was a good idea. When you're leaving for the night at 4am the last thing i'd wanna do is walk all the way out and try and find a cab. I was skeptical about camping at first too since im not a very outdoorsy person....I would suggest either vip or get a really small RV for the two of you.

We decided VIP. We just wanted other opinions. We had never intended on flying in, the shuttle questions were pertaining to from the hotel to the farm. Thanks for all the responses! CANT WAIT.
