So last year was my first roo, and i used a refillable water bottle, it was annoying to handle, so i'm look to get a camelbak this year. Can anyone recommend a model/type/price i should pay. im looking for one that also has pockets/pouches so i can carry stuff too.

Get one with pockets. Big pockets. For my first Roo, I bought one with next to no storage space thinking I wouldn't wanna carry around a large bag. Regretted that quickly. Damn thing barely had room for my phone, cash, and some gum. Much less anything else useful. Pockets.

Keep an eye on the discount Roo supplies thread, they will pop up on sale from time to time. Expect to pay about $50, $40 is a good deal. They are worth every penny.
I would recommend NOT getting a knock-off brand (Wal mart brand) because they have a tendency to leak.
Not all knock-offs are bad. I'll try and find mine and check it's brand. Had it since '08 and it still works great! Might still be with some of my stuff back home though.
If you don't want to spend all that paper money on some camels back water just put a bladder in your favorite backpack and cut a small hole for the hose.

For Your ROO!
I did this. Huge, cheap backpack. Many pockets. 6.99 replacement bladder from Walmart. Viola!
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Steep and Cheap also offers them from time to time for next to nothing, if you can catch it on their site. I found mine a few years ago at Campmor...it was about $25 on sale. Plenty of storage space for my Centeroo needs.

I got the stowaway which goes inside your backpack. I have a swiss army backpack with lots of compartments so I got one I could put inside it. I dont remember what it cost.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

I bought a Walmart brand with the gel to freeze, then fill with water two years ago. Two years if weekend long hikes and 4 festivals later, still no leaks. It wasn't the cheap Walmart version, but it was sold at Wally world for about 30 bucks. Bladder size keeps me drinking steadily on 12 hours of active hiking in the Florida sun. At roo I'll likely have a few other frosty beverages to keep my thirst at bay, as well as the hip flask with bourbon to keep me warm at night.
Yeah, a couple of years back my wife splurged on the CamelBak M.U.L.E. for me for my birthday, and I love it. Just the right balance between size, storage, and weight. Great for Roo, hiking, biking, or just using as a book bag without the bladder.

I can vouch for the Bass Pro Shop XPS brand. More pockets/space than either of my friends who had Camelbaks, never had a leakage issue.

Check that thread every day and shop shop shop around. I got a camelbak daystar bag last year on clearance and I love it. I don't know how I did 5 Roos without it.
Bought the M.U.L.E last year and I have absolutely no regrets except for 2. I can now find them for cheaper than what I bought it for (but still worth every penny I paid). And that I didn't get one sooner.

While I agree that knock-off brands are probably best avoided, you don't necessarily have to get a Camelbak brand hydration pack. I have a High Sierra pack that is probably about 6-7 years old and has been to Bonnaroo three times without failing me. I replaced the bladder last year because the hose was starting to seem a bit loose, but I probably didn't even need to. High Sierra is a solid brand, and you can find these on Amazon, highsierra.com, or use a shopping tool like Nextag or whatever. I'm not saying they are better than Camelbaks, but my experience has been good, and you might be able to save a few bucks if you see one around town. As for the Walmart-brand ones, well, you know...
Ditto non-Camelbak brands. I got a Kelty backpack uber cheap from Campmor I think and found that bladder to be way more durable than the Camelbak ones I have gotten since. I have also had success with every brand I have found at REI, and if it does leak, you can take it back.
As a petite woman, I like having a slimmer backpack but with lots of bungee cords and straps on it so I can strap on my ground cloth and such instead of feeling like a turtle.

Good point and something to always remember: don't let Bonnaroo be the first time you use anything. That air mattress might not hold air, that camelbak might leak, or that borrowed tent might be missing a piece.
I've gone through several camelback reservoirs over the years, and have had many off-brands last longer.
Camelback may make good packs for water reservoirs, but i don't trust their actual reservoirs. Plus the textured material they use makes it impossible to patch a leak with duct tape.
If you find a good deal on an off-brand one, get it and i'm sure it will be fine.

I have an Osprey Daypack ($50 at REI)..it has a pocket for the camelback bladder to go in and has a few loops to hold the nozzle. It is super lightweight. One big space and a smaller zipper spot on the front, as well as some crazy bands that you can put your shoes in and stuff. Also has 2 side slips for extra water bottles, cigs, ect. I love it.
