Hello all,
my name is Brian, I am from columbus ohio. I am new to this forum but have done a bit of reading before posting. Me and my wife are set to go to our FIRST trip/experience at Bonnaroo. We both are very excited and its been her dream since childhood to see Paul McCartney and Tom Petty.
so for her B-day i suprised her by buying us 2 tickets to Bonnaroo!! so since then I have looked around to get as much info as possible about the shows, the camping, the city, the people and everything. I've read alot of useful stuff on this page and wanted to introduce myself to you all so we can become fellow Rooers together.
I've been to a number of festivals and know how to handle the concert part of it, on the other hand my wife hasnt been to anything like this before and I am wanting to make sure I do everything I can to make sure she has a good time.
so any helpful hints or tips for yall would be much appreciated and taken seriously. I have a general list of what we will bring and want to see how much I am forgetting
1. TICKETS!!! 2. WATER WATER WATER WATER 3. Tent... need to purchase one any recomendations ?? prolly a 2-3 person tent 4. Food, mostly canned stuff 5. Extra Shoes / footwear 6. Battery powered Fans 7. Canopy for shade 8. Mist Bottles 9. Camelback type backpacks 10. TP 11. baby wipes 12. small portable grill 13. BEER for me and Booze for her
so this is just some of the stuff ive thought would be important, any additions, tips, hints would be awesome

Glad to hear you are going Brian. I'm also from Columbus, and this will be my eighth 'roo. I've never had a bad time. You seem to have a good list going. Follow the FAQ link and survival guide link, and you'll find a wealth of additional helpful info. Also, if you want to have a meet up in the spring over a beer somewhere (I'm a semi regular at Woodland's) to discuss logistics, etc, let me know via msg. My wife went to three with me, and aside from the heat, she also loved every minute of the experiences.

Hi Brian and welcome to the tribe. Just FYI the amount of food you bring is directly proportional to the amount of cooking you want to do. We don't cook at all while we're on the farm. We bring food stuff for breakfast (fruit, cereal, pastries, etc) and then snack stuff. I'm just too damn hot to stand over a grill when the heat is so constant. Others disagree.
You don't have to have a Camelbak, this is our 6th roo and the 1st time I finally broke down and bought one. And honestly I did that because it was MEGA cheap - Who knew they discontinued models?

The reference to Unchained made me remember - I guess there was one time at 'roo when I was kind of bummed. It occurred while walking up to said Van Halen cover band!
