I am sharing a VIP ticket with someone who is coming from a different state, so I plan on driving down with other friends who only have GA tickets. Will I still be able to arrive with them, help set up and then go meet my friend in the VIP area?

Yes, VIP can go to GA. GA cannot go to VIP. Keep in mind that GA opens Wednesday night, but VIP opens Thursday morning. If you show up Wednesday night, you will have to wait in GA until VIP opens.
