Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
We are going to spend Wednesday in Nashville and spend the night before heading to Roo on Thursday.
It coincides with the CMA's, so it should be fun. Did this last year but got in late at night. Still managed to sneak in a couple hours in the madness that was the CMA street party.
Where should we stay? If we are mostly going to be hitting up bars, with maybe a touch of sightseeing. Downtown is the west side of the river, right (Broadway area)? Would that be best?
Found a cheap one on the other side of the river (Ramada at Interstate & Shelby). Would it be a pain in the ass (or safe) for the 3 of us to stumble back to there at the end of the night (assuming cabs will be hard to get). Mainly want it because it has a guitar shaped pool, lol.
Hotel prices are still relatively good, so looking to book this weekend. (last year they were jacked up, due to CMAs, when I booked in May).
Looking to pay under $120 (and there are plenty on expedia in that range). Doesn't have to be fancy, just a safe place to crash at the end of the night.

Actually, CMA Fest, a.k.a. Fan Fair, is the weekend before Bonnaroo this year (June 6-9). This sucks for me personally, because I work in downtown Nashville and am usually able to avoid that most of that noise thanks to Bonnaroo. It will at least open up more hotel options for you.
Turns out this year the CMA weekend is the weekend before. No wonder the hotel prices weren't jacked up. Got some advice from a couple of my buddies in Nashville, and got my hotel.
Any tips on fun in Nashville are still appreciated though

Ha, yeah, I just checked the website because it seemed strange that so many hotels were still so cheap (compared to last year).
I'm disappointed that I'm not gonna be there for it. Not a country fan, but the streets were packed and it looked like a lot of fun.
Guess it'll just be bars and Third Man Records, lol.

Yeah, it won't be crazy like it would be for CMA Fest, but it will at least give you a chance to experience more of a typical time in Nashville, which can still be a lot of fun. It can be pretty unmanageable when it is packed like that. I'm sure there will be numerous people around town in the same boat as you, spending a night in Nashville prior to Bonnaroo.

Any good brewpubs with craft beer in the downtown region?
Flying Saucer has a huge selection of beers, on tap and bottled. Broadway Brehouse has a very large selection of beers on tap. Flying Saucer is a cooler spot, but off the main drag a bit on 10th, while Broadway Brewhouse is right in the center of everything on Broadway. Also, Yazoo brewery is located in the Gulch a few blocks off the main drag. Depending where you stay, you may need to cab it to Yazoo. You could also come across the river to my hood in East Nashville. A lot of great bars and restaurants, and a fairly new brewery called Fat Bottom that is really cool.
Which hotel did you go with? Please don't say Stadium Inn.
Nope, Ramada (although it is behind the stadium's parking lot). Decent reviews and got it for $85. Cheap and close to the walking bridge to downtown.
But really wouldn't care if it was a shizzy hotel. Not gonna be there at all except to lay our heads Wed night.
Yeah, Ramada will be fine. Their claim to fame is their guitar-shaped swimming pool. Stadium Inn is one of the sketchiest hotels I've ever seen, so I just had to make sure. You'll be on the east side of the river, so you could easily hit up downtown (via the walking bridge) or the bars at 5 Points in East Nash. Fat Bottom Brewery is on the way to 5 Points.

Not gonna lie, the guitar pool was the selling point (and the cheap rate and free parking) Mentioned it to my gf, and she got excited. We likely won't even go for a swim, but the idea of it was funny to us.

Flying saucer.
They really do not take care of the beer there, it is like 100 taps of stuff that all tastes the same to me. I think the pourhouse does a decent job, and Broadway Brewhouse does as well. You could also walk or take a short cab ride to five points and go to 3 Crow Bar, or the Red Door.

I'm going with the Baymont in Brentwood. Mostly because I want to see a bit of Nashville, go to Third Man Records, and have a good place to stay within a decent distance of Bonnaroo.

How does staying Brentwood help with any of that? It is further away from Bonnaroo than downtown.

Your better off staying in Smyrna or Antioch. Lots of cheap hotels. Straight shot on I24 to Manchester one way and Third Man records the other.

Brentwood is off of I-65, when you want to be off of I-24 to get to Manchester. And that drive across town can be brutal on a Wednesday or Thursday morning/afternoon.
Murfressboro, Smyrna would be better off location wise. Even Hickory Hollow would be better then Brentwood.

But if you do choose Hickory Hollow, be sure and bring your weapon of choice.

I didn't really consider quick access to the I-24 in the morning, but luckily our hotel (on Interstate Dr) is pretty much on the on-ramp of the I-24, yet still downtownish
Unfortunately the Ramada isnt within walking distance to anything other than LP Stadium.
Nah, he could easily walk to downtown across the pedestrian bridge in about 10-15 minutes. He could technically walk to 5 Points too, but I would only advise it during the daylight hours.
