--------- Mayers is confident that Outside Lands will draw about 60,000 per day from a national audience. He adds that ticket sales for Bonnaroo, set for June 12-15, are going well.
"We are pretty much on pace with where we were the last two years at this point, and we sold out both of those years," Mayers says. "Interestingly enough, the VIP package is up about 20 percent and last year was our strongest year ever for that. It just shows that there is a certain group that will pay for a different experience, maybe a more comfortable experience, and, just like every other aspect of the festival, we want to make sure we're taking care of those people in the right way." --------
Last year Bonnaroo unofficially grossed about $18 million from 80,000 in attendance.
The only thing that says to me is that the VIP section will be bigger then it was last year - pushing tent only back even further and GA even further out

hrm, i dunno bout that, wasnt there PLENTY Of room left over in VIP last year? for some reason i remember the cats who were in VIP last year sayin there was a ton of extra space..
There was quite a bit of extra space in the back corner by the woods. Dont they limit the VIP tickets - so that means it will just sell out faster??? curious...

i thought there were some people on here thinking this year would sell out quicker then previous years.
i don't know if VIP would sell out. i would think the amount of VIP tickets would determine the size of VIP camping, since they would make more money that way. Though it might be hard to accomodate (sp?) the meals and whatnot for VIPers.

I would imagine the VIP is the same size, they have an allotment of VIP tickets and space and that won't grow it will only be sold out...this year, anyways.

hmmmm, i dunno, i just read it as VIP sales are up 20% compared to where they were last year at this time, not that they have 20% more tickets for sale or a 20% larger section... could just be my interpretation though.

You are prolly right. Did VIP sell out last year?
I wonder if it got got close to selling out earlier this year - would they free up more tickets and make VIP bigger just to make more money?
