Are an English indie rock band from Oxford, England. The band is made up of Yannis Philippakis(Vocals, Guitar), Jack Bevan(Drums), Jimmy Smith(Guitar), Walter Gervers(Bass, Backing Vocals), and Edwin Congreave(Keyboard, Backing Vocals). Foals are currently signed to Transgressive Records in the United Kingdom and Sub Pop in the United States. They released their debut album Antidotes on 24 March 2008 in the UK, and 8 April 2008 in the US. The band's second album, Total Life Forever, was released on 10 May 2010.The band's third and most well received album Holy Fire was released on 11 February 2013.
Recognition: Total Life Forever was nominated for Mercury Prize for the Best Album of the Year in 2010 losing out that year to The XX. Additionally Total Life Forever was also nominated in 2011 for the NME awards for Best British Band, Best Live Act, Best British Album, and Best Album Artwork. The lead single from the Album "Spanish Sahara" won NME's best track award for 2011. More recently, Foals won another NME Award for best track 2013 "Inhaler", one of Foals new singles from Holy Fire.
