How about just NOT sendin wristbands and giving us cool ass tickets like we used to get...(Man I sound like the old guy saying "Get off my lawn")

I get that no tickets helps make things "greener", but I'll donate another $10 to the greening initiative if it means I can have a ticket! To Bonnaroo's credit though, they did offer the "Souvenir Ticket" for purchase at the merch store for a nominal fee, maybe $10? I picked one up last year to satiate my need for a ticket collection. So I guess disregard my complaint as long as they offer the souvenir tickets for purchase
I had no idea that we could buy "Souvenir Tickets". I never pay much attention to what they have @ the store. I just grab a poster and sticker each year on Thursday and never go back by. Any idea if you can purchase them online anywhere? Im about to go look on the Bonnaroo website.

Unfortunately I don's see them listed on Bonnaroo's website or on eBay. If you really want one, I'd suggest checking eBay every couple of days. I missed out on the throw/blankets they had last year, but finally found one for sale on eBay a few months ago.
I snapped a pic of mine to show you what it looks like. It's 6"x3" and the front is like one of those old school holographic cards from back in the day (the kind where if you tilt it one way, you see one image, tilt it another and the image changes).
Nominal fee of ten bucks for a fukking souvenir ticket? #Scamaroo
Eh, I like to collect the tickets of shows I go to. So when I discovered we no longer get tickets, I was disappointed, only to be relieved when I saw these for sale in the merch store. And I don't remember the exact price, could have been $5, but definitely wasn't over $10. Plus the souvenir ticket is a thick plastic, so it won't wear and tear like a normal ticket surviving a weekend at 'roo.
To each their own though, just means they won't sell out of the souvenir tickets before I buy mine this year!
Well shit wish I had stopped by the merch tent last year! Even more I wish they would send a commemorative ticket with the wristband. I shouldn't have to pay fer it.
I would imagine this would cut down the time it takes to get in from the highway, but like others have said, I wonder how they're going to check for counterfeit wristbands.
Edit: Don't the wristbands have chips in them now? If that's the case, and they just have to scan them, then this should definitely cut down wait time.

i like this policy a lot.. it should definitely speed things up. and i bet they have the RFID things set up at the gates too, to make sure that everyone is registered. i think registrations is a pretty crucial thing for a festival of this size... last year one of my friend's wristband broke off (wasnt put on properly) and since we were registered, we just had to walk to the office, show some id, and they gave her a new one.

My daughter bought this throw last year and it is the best souvenir we have from Roo. Well worth it! I'm checking the porch everyday for those wristbands this year!

Agreed, I love mine I went to buy one after Radiohead last year and they were already sold out, was super bummed about it. I checked all the merch tents everyday to see if they had a few hidden away in the back, but to no avail. Like I said, finally found one on eBay a month or two ago though so it all worked out.
Personally, I love the wristbands. It means my stupid butt can't lose my ticket halfway through the show. Also, I loved linking it to my Facebook, then scanning it at every show I attended. When I got back, my Facebook was full of jealous friends going, "OMG, you saw [insert band here]?! THAT IS SO FREAKING COOL!!!!!" My husband and I put our wristbands in the frames with our posters, so we still managed to make them into a souvenir.

I guess they'll have you scanning in and out each time you visit Centeroo again this year. Not that I mind, but on several occasions I forgot to "tag out" and had to have mine reset after waiting in line.
Yessss! And it makes your trip seem that much more real when you can put it on before hitting the road
Plus, putting your wristband on extra early gives a handy signal to state troopers across the country that you're heading to a four-day music festival full of druqs! EVERYBODY WINS.
I don't drive to Bonnaroo, but most people I spy while on the shuttle have about a billion dead giveaways without the wristband.
So since each wristband is registered, what does that mean if you buy one off of someone else and your name won't match up with the one the wristband is registered to? Or could the other person just sell their wristband as unregistered once it arrives?

I bought by wristband off of stubhub last year and it was a big concern for me as well (I bought it late, and they shipped them late so I was cutting it close as it was). As soon as I got it, I went on the Bonnaroo website and registered it. I got an email that said it was registered. That was it, and I wasn't sure because I couldn't check it, so I was worried until we actually got to the toll booth, they scanned it, and said my name. I think as long as you get that email saying you registered it, you're in the clear. Still, you're running a risk. I don't know why someone would register their wristband and then sell it, and I'm not sure if there's a remedy for it either. But you can always just go as that person I guess, I don't remember them checking IDs at the tollbooth.
I hope the seams are stronger this year. The seam on one of my bands popped between the Conference Center and the gate. Mine, my wife's, and a friend's each popped loose one more time each and my and my wife's bands kept losing their RFID. They wouldn't scan, I'd go to Customer Service. It would scan for them. I'd have to take them back over to the big scanners and show them that no, it really wouldn't scan.
