In no real order:
06/13/01 - Marilyn Manson - Ozzfest 2001 - Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, Noblesville, IN This was my first concert. I was only 14, but I went harder than anyone else. I came home covered in my own blood (had a nosebleed right in the middle of his set), other people's beer, and I lost my voice for a week from screaming every word at the top of my lungs.
5/30/2009 - Nine Inch Nails - NIN/JA Tour - Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, Noblesville, IN Just an amazing show. I got to hear a bunch of rare songs in the pouring rain while a tornado apparently touched down nearby. Looking back, I don't know why we weren't evacuated or told what was going on.
6/8/2012 - Radiohead - Bonnaroo - Manchester, TN Hearing Weird Fishes the day after my birthday with 80,000 of the coolest people I have ever met on my first camping trip was mindblowing. This was the first time I ever cried at a concert.
7/17/2010 - LCD Soundsystem - Pitchfork 2010 - Chicago, IL First and probably last time seeing them, but it was a great show. Every person there was dancing!
1/18/2009 - Girl Talk - The Pageant, St. Louis, MO This was the craziest concert I have been to. I managed to be front row, dead center. I caught his sunglasses, and I cracked 2 ribs on the rail from people pushing. Didn't stop me until the next day, haha. It hurt to breathe, but it was worth it.
3/20/2008 - Justice & Diplo - The Riviera, Chicago, IL I picked the worst person to go with (horrible attitude and was starting fights with people), and I had to sleep in a greyhound station while people smoked crack in the bathroom. Still a great show!
6/9/2012 - Santigold - Bonnaroo, Manchester, TN How many people can say they danced with an artist on the What stage? So much fun.
4/18/2002 - Sasha & Digweed - Murat Egyptian Room, Indianapolis, IN This was my first EDM show, and OMG it was amazing. I danced with complete strangers for 4 hours straight.
11/12/2002 - John Mayer - Pepsi Coliseum, Indianapolis, IN Took my mom, as she was a big fan as well. I about froze in line outside for 3 hours, but we both had a great time.
7/16/2010 - Robyn - Pitchfork Music Festival - Chicago, IL Robyn is one of the best performers out there. I've been a fan since her first single came out in 1993. I was so excited to finally see her, and she didn't disappoint.

I haven't put together a list but it's pretty safe to say that Radiohead on the main stage, followed by Umphrey's in This Tent last year was the greatest musical night of my life.

1. Roger Waters - The Wall - Phillips Arena Atl. 2010 / My favorite musician of all time playing my favorite album of all time. 2. Phish - Antioch TN 1999 / This concert really set the stage for things to come. 3. Widespread Panic - Bonnaroo 2002 night 2 / This is where I fell in love with Bonnaroo 4. Radiohead - Bonnaroo 2006 / Nuff said. 5. Particle - LN Bonnaroo 2002 / This may be the first show where I lost my mind 6. Shpongle - EFF 2011 / This was absolutely a spiritual experience for me 7. Phish - Bonnaroo 2009 night 1 / This was in the beginning of their reunion tour and people said they would never play Bonnaroo 8. String Cheese - EFF 2011 / This was the beginning of the night that ended with Shpongle above and I was on another planet. 9. Man or Astroman? - Riverbend Festival 1998 / First time ever in a pit, I may have left with some bruises 10. Justice - Moogfest pre party 2012 / Possibly the most fun I've ever had at a show
-Rage Against The Machine, Lollapalooza 2008. My first real festival and I was in about the 4th row. Still one of the most intense concerts I've ever attended. -My Morning Jacket, The Louisville Palace 2011. First show of the Circuital tour. Amazing show all the way around w/ guest appearances from Ben Sollee, Daniel Martin Moore, and Erykah Badu doing Tyrone with the Band. -My Morning Jacket, Forecastle Festival 2012. Anybody there will attest to how great this show was. Johhny Quaid rejoining the band onstage, Andrew Bird, Ben Sollee, Pres. Hall, Dean Wareham, Carless Whisper, and the infamous banana jam. S**t was magic. -Radiohead at Roo 2012 -Superjam 2012 w/ Questlove, D'Angelo, and everyone else. -Orbital, Moogfest 2012 -Four Tet, Moogfest 2012 -Flaming Lips, Bonnaroo 2010. I know their shtick was already long stale by then, but it was my first Flaming Lips live experience. -String Cheese Incident, Bonnaroo 2011. Went into this show with no knowledge at all SCI other than knowing they were supposed to be fun live and ended up having the time of my life. -Jim James, The Brown Theatre in Louisville 2013. Go see him on this tour people.

Another old guy list. In almost chronological order - all dates from the last millennium are approximate:
Sly & The Family Stone - Omaha Civic Auditorium, circa 1973
Rolling Stones - Candlestick Park, 1980
Talking Heads - Greek Theater, Berkeley, 1983
Grateful Dead/Furthur/Phil & Friends - any of 50 or so shows starting in the mid-80s; Seriously, I can barely remember them, much less compare and contrast
George Porter's All-Stars (feat. Bernie Worrell) - B.B. Kings, NY 1998
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band - Oakland Auditorium, 1980
Sergio Mendes and The Black Eyed Peas - Ipanema Beach, Rio de Janeiro, 2006
Tom Waits & The Kronos Quartet - Mountain View, CA, 2007
Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Golden Gate Park, 2012
Red Baraat - Golden Gate Park, 2012
Edit: How did I not include Radiohead at Roo either time? Or Paul McCartney? Stevie Wonder? Gov't Mule? I know music is subjective, but I can't even be objective how much I like the music that I like.
Edit #2: OK. I saw Paul and Stevie after the post. But Radiohead?
1. Radiohead - Verizon Center 2012 - It was my second time seeing them, and first time since I became infatuated. It was better than the Bonnaroo set by far.
2. Chicago Symphony Orchestra - Chicago 2011 - Mahler 6. It was perfect, going to listen to this now.
3. Bon Iver/Tallest Man on Earth - Music Hall of Williamsburg 2008 - I was visiting a friend at NYU and she had tickets to see the "the Skinny Love guy and some tall guy." I loved For Emma, Forever Ago and this introduced me to TTMOE who is among my favorites still today.
4. Sigur Ros - Bonnaroo 2008 - My first Bonnaroo and this is still this most incredible show I've ever seen. Sigur Ros is made for late night.
5. The Flaming Lips - The National 2011 - A few too many "motherf-ckers" but that's Wayne Coyne I suppose. First time seeing their whole set up.
6. Arcade Fire - Bonnaroo 2011 - First great headliner set I saw at Bonnaroo. They incorporated theatrics, sounded spot on, and seemed to love the audience.
7. The Tallest Man on Earth - Black Cat 2010 - My first time being front row center for a real show. It's corny too, but it marked a year of dating my girlfriend. Three years since and we make every TTMOE show that's close.
8. The Rolling Stones - Verizon Center 2005 It was my first time seeing one of the "greats." I was blown away that they weren't dead.
9. Goat - Black Cat 2013 - It was hypnotic, chaotic, and one of the most engaging shows I've ever been to.
10. St. Vincent Bonnaroo 2012 - I've never been able to describe this set well without using the word "shred." Anyone who was there saw Annie absolutely on top of her game. She had complete control over the sound and was constantly giving directions to the soundboard to perfect the balance.
1. Thee Oh Sees - The Earl Atlanta 11/11/11. Pretty sure I witnessed a seance. Hands down best show I have ever seen. 2. Deerhunter - 40 Watt Athens 2007. It was very shortly after Crytpograms was released and they played to a packed house of new fans. When the show was done everybody pretty just stood there stunned. Everybody's minds were blown (they were much more gnarly back in then). Bradford Cox seemed to pick up on it and aggressively taunted the crowd saying, "Is that what you expected? Huh? Is that what you expected? And threw his mic down. 3. Man Man - 40 Watt Athens 2006. They were touring Six Demon Bag, which is still my favorite of their's. There was just so much fun happening on stage with all of their zany antics and weird instruments. It seemed so different to me. 4. Radiohead - Bonnaroo 2012. Incredible setlist for my taste. I enjoyed it much more than the Atlanta show earlier that year. 5. Black Lips - The Earl Atlanta 2009/2010. New Years Eve. The biggest party night with my favorite party band. There are probably 10 other Black Lips shows I could pick, but this was NYE. 6. Deerhunter - Bonnaroo 2011. The extended krautrock jams were on point and weird stage banter were on point. Like the Black Lips, there are probably 10 shows I could pick. I've seen this band at least 15 times and they were all great. Some of the best times were shows that had both Deerhunter and the Black Lips, like at the tiny, living room sized, 529 when Microcastle was about to come out. 7. Animal Collective - Variety Playhouse Atlanta 2006. The drone never stopped and they never stopped dancing. At the time, I wasn't aware that they played material that would be on future albums on tour, so there was an element of "what the fuck is going on" throughout the show. 8. Mogwai - Whirlyball Roswell, GA 2006. They used to do this cool thing outside of Atlanta at a place called Whirlyball. Whirlyball is a mix of bumper cars, lacrosse, and basketball (look it up) and they would have bands come play the game and then play a show. Of course I went the Deerhunter night and the Black Lips night, but Mogwai was the first one I went to. In my head, Mogwai was the big beast of a band coming all the way from the upper reaches of Europe, so it was surreal to see them at a venue like this. It's all inside, with a small bar near the whirlyball rink and a stage squeezed in between (about the size you would find at a Mexican restaurant). 9. Cloud Nothings - The Earl Atlanta 2012. I was pretty freakin into that new album, but damn, I was still not prepared for how hard they would rock. 10. Goat The Masquerade Atlanta 2013 - I'm going to throw this in here, not only because they sounded great and have amazing songs without the use of traditional structure, which keeps things so interesting, but they put on a very unique performance that was refreshing to see. I've never seen a crowd so won over from beginning to end before. I believe everybody left very happy.
HM: Screaming Females The Basement Atlanta 2012. They opened for Titus Andronicus and I had no idea who they were. It was this big, rocking surprise sent down from the heavens of rock n roll. Please see them (her) shred if you get a chance.
Overall, I really like surprises, unique performances, and shows that create an atmosphere. I've seen a lot of great bands, but the most memorable shows are the ones that catch me a little off guard.
Love that the MMJ thunderdome how from bonnaroo 2004 keeps showing up! If you were there you know why!
I literally LOVE the MMJ live set from Bonnaroo 2004, played it a million times. Wasn't there - however I have to ask why he calls it thunderdome? That set is straight magic, I'm so curious about the experience.
Jim James said something about a thunder dome describing the weather during the set I don't know which song or what time reference, maybe I will listen to it tomorrow to have a better answer for you. I was the first time I ever heard them and I was blown away from the opening note to the closing note. Everything about the experience was phenomenal for me.

(10) Dave Matthews Band... Memphis 2008, seen him 8 or 9 times but my first with my big brother who is a huge fan (30+ shows).
(9) Pretty Lights... New Orleans 2012, my bachelor party, 12 of my best friends, very surprised I have any brain cells left.
(8) Flaming Lips... OKC Zoo 2005, Live filming of the DVD "UFO's at the Zoo"
(7) Bruce Springsteen... any of the 5 shows iv been to because he is my dad's hero and my pops is in rare form at Bruce shows.
(6) U2... St. Louis 2006, no matter what you think of their music their show is a spectacle and a blast.
(5) Neli Young... Kansas City 2009
(4) My Morning Jacket... Bonnaroo 2005 (I missed the 04 and epic 08 shows, but I had never heard of them until we got to Which stage super early for Modest Mouse.
(1) All of Hangout 2012... The day before the fest I proposed to my (now) wife on the beach at sunset, in front of the old condo my family used to stay at each summer as a little kid. We spent 4 days after that celebrating to live music in one of my favorite places on earth.
Fallout Festival 2003 in Columbia, SC (Zugg Island, Powerman 5000, Default, Eve Six... I went for Rooney, a celebrated high school skip day, and it was free)
Pretty much takes the cake. And, honorable mention to the poor, random local cats that opened for My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult at the Exit/In in 2007... they were like a cheap knock off of a knock off of a knock off. Sounded like someone's little brother's attempt at rewriting Franz Ferdinand's "Take Me Out", but in different keys and time signatures for 45 minutes. It was the worst pairing of acts I've ever seen.

Because at the beginning of the set it started out sunny and hot, but then the wind picked up. Huge storm clouds started getting blown in directly towards the Which Stage. It got really, really dark and started to monsoon - just massive amounts of water and wind. Everyone ran towards the tents - and not just This, That and the Other, but like the little vendor tents and crap. MMJ finished their set in front of MAYBE 1000 people, and that's being generous. Everyone else hightailed it.
So he called it Thunderdome because it looked and felt like Thunderdome. Hence, why people refer to it as the "monsoon" show.
That is, along with Roo 06, what I pick when I'm in the mood to listen to a MMJ set. So great, and at their absolute creative peak, too (I just say this because IMO the less post-Z the better). That's one I wish I could have been at, for sure.
Let me echo the others in congratulating canexplain on winning by a mile.
Not to detract at all from canexplain's list, but I have to say that I'm far more jealous of billypilgrim seeing Talking Heads than of any other experience listed in this thread.
Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group (secret Mars Volta Show) - March 22, 2011 - NOLA - House of Blues The Parish
Those shows were soooo good. Energy wise, it was the best I'd ever seen them (in Asheville)... and the playing was fire, I could only imagine how great it would have been if they had played some of their established catalog as well.

I will admit that I kind of overlooked that in canexplain's list for some reason, and that it gets extra points for being at CBGB, but if I had my time machine and could only go to one of those shows, I think I'd go with billypilgrim's show because they were headlining by then, I could not possibly care less about the Ramones, and the Greek is a pretty cool venue as well.
Thinking about all this, if we could throw in non-music concerts, like a comedy show... George Carlin in 2005 would definitely be in my top 10. It was basically a rehearsal for his then to be taped HBO special "Life Is Worth Losing", complete with the awesome opening monologue:

worst: I went to see Shinedown, Chevelle and Puddle of Mudd. it was free and I was only going because I use to love Chevelle. Puddle Of Mudd is one of my least favorite bands ever and I wanted to avoid them but they were playing when we got there and we left 5 songs into Shinedown.
most boring: and I will get crap for this but it was Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson in 05 at a minor league ballpark.
worst opening bands: Bad Acid Trip- they were the opening band on the System Of A Down/The Mars Volta tour. they were a really bad ripoff of SOAD. Needtobreathe-at some local fest, all I remeber about it was them covering Unbelievable by EMF. ALO-opened for DMB. Liars-opened for Radiohead, maybe if they weren't for Radiohead I would have felt differently. Melt Banana-opened for Tool. similiar situation as with Liars, they were just completely out of place in that big arena.

I'm going to agree with ya because I also saw the Beatles in Japan (Budakon) and at that show you could actually hear them. In the true sense, I would say that was a better show. For memories though, the RR show has that really special spot ... cr****

Ooh, if we included non-music, I'd have to add Brian Posehn at the Earl, Doug Benson at the Laughing Skull (where we were so close that we were pretty sure he was going to fall on Josh for the first couple of minutes of the show), Louis CK at the Tabernacle, and Cheech and Chong at the Tabernacle. I miss Atlanta.
Budakon... don't know about its musical history, really, but there are many a wrestling show that took place there that I'd have killed to have attended.

I went to high school with the singer for Shinedown. He sort of dated one of my good friends at the time. He said they went on two dates; she said they dated for nine months. Probably somewhere in the middle, I guess.
