just so you know, when people use the phrase 'push my way through' in regard to getting to the railing for a set, the connotation is that people are there ahead of you to secure the spot you're pushing for.
please adjust your phraseology accordingly to avoid future miscommunications.

On one hand, I'm pleased to have a chance to catch 40m of Cults in the morning and see PHJB in a tent, while on the other, I'm kind of frustrated I won't be getting the nap I planned on.
(1) Damon Albarn (2) Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (3) King Khan & His Shrines (4) Ty Segall (5) Ms Lauryn Hill (6) Darkside (7) Kanye (8) Janelle Monae (9) Goat (10) Meshuggah.
Preservation Hall Jazz Band got moved to right before the Superjam with Jim James. Playing at the same time as Mumford and Sons. Awesome
Interesting move putting another band in a tent DURING the headliner......has this happened in the recent past where a headliner wasn't unopposed? Wonder what it means? Wonder if it has anything to do with Mumfords shows being cancelled this week? They might already know that Mumford can't perform so they're adjusting the schedule & just haven't made the announcement yet until the backup plan is finalized........interesting indeed.....

The only other time they've had a headliner that wasn't unopposed, to my knowledge, is David Byrne (on Which) during Beastie Boys in 2009

Yes. Now I've got something to see during that time period. Hitting PHJB up, heading over to the lounge to catch William Tyler, and headed back to This for Superjam. Looks like I'll be starting my Saturday off with the dance party that will be Clockwork

except that Beastie Boys were not a main headliner that year. they split headlined the main stage that friday with Phish. it was and is the only time they had a split main stage headliner. this year is the first time, ever, that they have had another stage going during a main headliner. pretty unprecedented, but its a unique situation.
i wont be there this year. last year was my 7th(04-09, 12) and for now final Roo. Hope everyone has a blast and stays safe this weekend. its going to be great as always.
I'm so glad we're resurrecting this dead horse again! This discussion has come up time and again for four years now, and it seems the general consensus to the question of whether the Beastie Boys headlined is... sort of. Can we all just agree to accept that it was basically a split-headliner deal and move onto this decade, shall we?
