I thought this might be a useful thread, especially for the newbies. Even with the map of the farm, it can be difficult sometime to determine distance and/or time is takes to get from A to B.
I'll start. How long of a walk is Groop camping from the What stage? This is my first year Groop camping and was in POD 1 the past two years. Was wondering if it is a comparable distance from POD 1 to What once that entrance is opened. Looks to be on the map. I do know that Groop will be closer to the tents, specifically Other.

Good thread idea. This was one of my biggest questions going into last year's Roo, which was my first. For others who are new to the farm, with the schedule now out, you may be wondering how easy it is to get from stage to stage, stage to tent, etc.
One thing to consider is that Roo is a lot like a city. You need to consider rush hour. Also, arch searches fluctuate; sometimes all are very thorough, others wave you through.
Everything takes longer a bonnaroo! I find that I try to minimize my running around and move at the last minute only when vitally necessary. I try not to catch shows where one finishes right as the other starts on different stages unless vitally necessary (mccartney zztop).
Another question maybe for somewhere else though. Will zz top start before anyone can make it from what to the tent. It's seems like it would take a few minutes especially if I am in the McCartney pit like I hope to be, I didn't do many of the back to back shows on different stages in the past.
Not many sets start late, so ZZ Top will most likely start just as Macca finishes. But that also depends on how long he actually plays fer. Some headliners do not use their entire set time. That bein' said I expect Sir Paul to play his full 2.5 hours!
I found this but I swear somewhere there is an official Roo Map overlay ontop of this view where you can see individual camp sites/stages etc.
1/5'th mile from Arch to What Stage 1/5'th mile from Which to What A solid 1 mile from What stage to Which and then on to all the other stages back to What. This is if you walk down the path from Which to What. 1/2 mile if you walked around the field around What stage. ~1/2 mile from Tent Only and Shakedown St.
VARIOUS other measurements but remember 1 mile there and 1 mile back and multiple miles throughout the day and for 3-4 day.
I can make more of these or you can load up Google Earth and search for Bonnaroo. I selected 'Bonnaroo VIP' and it brought me there with the map overlay.

I would say that the walk from Groop to What is in the 10-15 min range at a "relaxed and throwing back few beers pace". When not going to What you should probably enter on the other side of centeroo

Awesome! Thanks for the info. Much better than the 25-30 min walk from POD 1 to What. And thats at a fairly quick pace.
I would like to make the argument that Pod 10 is closer to the Centeroo entrance than Pod 1. Other people have argued the opposite, but after walking both, Pod 1 seemed farther away (also it seemed to smell more like a Port-a-John. Not sure why).

From POD 1 to the Arch entrance? Or the What stage entrance?
I've never been in POD 10, but I could believe it if we're talking the Arch. The What entrance knocks 7-8 min off of the POD 1 walk. But it closes so early (after the main HLer) that its only useful once or twice a day. And the post-LN walk to POD 1 from the arch is long.

Last year they added a shortcut path between What and VIP and it chopped off a good portion of the long walk to the arch.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I sorta remember that. I should since I camped in POD 1 last year, haha.
I'm still fairly certain that Groop camping will be closer than POD 1.

Ah, I forgot about the What Stage entrance (also known, I have heard, as the VIP petting zoo). That probably does knock down the time quite a bit.
I injured my ankle the Friday night of last year and had to Festicab the rest of the time. To me it felt like the Pod 1 ride (since we sometimes had to make detours for other riders) was RIDICULOUSLY long, while the Pod 10 ride was not. Those were both from the Arch entrance, so I may be biased.
