Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
So today's announcement fell juuust a little short of my expectations (Grateful Grass).
Anyone know if any more additions are expected?
I'm just trying to decide between this and Phases.
Comparing what they had last year I would say there will be at least a couple more rounds of additions. It is only April, so there is no rush for them to put the whole roster out.
Surprise! More Keller! We'll also have Grateful Gospel for one show!
Keller Williams with his funk band More Than a Little, featuring John Kadlecik from Furthur on guitar — will be performing songs from The Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia repertoire. The focus will be on the spiritual gospel side, as well as dead songs done in a gospel way...the Gospel of Jerry. Ahman. -Kw.
Okay I'm going, even if I have to do this solo, I have to find a way.
I would be thrilled with any of those three. Damn I think I'm more excited for lockN than I am for roo!!
That's funny, I told my wife the same thing. LockN just might be for fun for me than Roo. I'm excited about Roo, but this lineup is already very solid and I think the crowd will be more my speed.
Yea I mean Don't get me wrong, bonnaroo holds a special place in my heart but this fest just keeps getting better and better! Plus with that grateful gospel thing, well MY GOD! Pretty excited about Keller Williams I missed him when he came to town and was banking on him being on the roo lineup, so I was thrilled to see his name pop up yesterday!!

Yea it looks like they had around 26 artists playing last year. Right now we are at 14. Forgive me if my numbers are off by one or two, I'm reading and typing all this on an iPhone with a very badly cracked screen.
Also, I would really like to see some more bluegrass get added.
So with the rumors of Lockn being in negotiations with Tom Petty and Neil Young, and with My Morning Jacket being a wildcard, I can only wonder who will be added. Think we could get both Petty and Young? I'm already more hyped for Lockn than Roo at this point.

It would be sick if they get 2 out of those 3. Do you think that they will drop a big addition this week?

I dunno, the fest isn't till September and with the erratic way they release performers, we can't be sure. I wish they'd release a lineup with everyone we have some more, and with blank spots for the unannounced acts.

this lineup is already insane. I can't imagine them adding two huge names like petty and young. I think its gotta be wither one or the other. I would love to be wrong though!

I want to say it was around midnight to 1:00am for the main stages shutting down, but they have a "triangle stage" out in the camp grounds area that starts around then for LN collaborations. I think there were fire pits and stuff around there and a smaller more intimate crowd. Many didnt know where it was at last year and they said they want to do a better job on that this year so it may be more crowded.

They were pretty loose with the scheduling last year. I think they released times for everybody, but some played much longer. I remember Mule playing an extra 30 minutes or so and then SCI coming on afterwards and playing about an hour over schedule (they closed the main stage that night) and then Furthur played about 45 minutes to an hour over what they were scheduled each night. They don't announce who will be playing or for how long when it comes to the campfire stage, but Pegi Young did her whole 90 set,the next night Jorma played for about 45 minutes then Indecision played for quite some time then the night after that Phil Lesh & the Terrapin Family band played for over an hour followed by the Jeff Sipe Trio with members of Aquarium Rescue Unit playing until the early morning hours. It's a shame that not many attended those shows. It didn't help that they started as soon as the main stages ended and it was about a forty minute walk away.

Question, where would I keep my bike during the main stage shows? I imagine I couldn't (and wouldn't) want to have it with me up in the crowd around the main stage.

Are you serious about a 40 minute walk!?
Yes, it's very hilly also, so it's more exhausting than a 40 minute Bonnaroo walk. Also the RV's weren't organized very well and it became a maze that you had to walk through and most of the time we had to hop these little fences that were scattered around. They said that shuttles will definitely be happening this year though. If anybody has any questions about what it was like there then ask away. I'll help anyway that I can. I feel like this year will be a big step up though because they have been closely paying attention to feedback it seems.
There is a bike rack by the main entrance to the venue. To be clear I didn't actually bring one but was super jealous of those who did.
Do you have to pay to use it, is there a lot of space on the rack?
I'm fairly certain it was free. Not sure about the space. All I know is they "highly encourage" people to bring there bikes. There is also talk to a shuttle which is going to be clutch if true.
